Divergent Jennifer Lawrence Shailene Woodley

SHAILENE WOODLEY BECAME A HOUSEHOLD NAME FOR NO REASON

Is anybody else out there sick to death of hearing about and seeing Shailene Woodley everywhere you turn? For weeks before Divergent was released, Shailene (whom at first we assumed was some country singer) appeared on every talk show, morning, noon, and night, and she was introduced with Angelina Jolie fanfare before anyone knew who she was. Of course she was also plastered all over magazines, newspapers, and websites. And she was literally unknown. We wondered why she was being shoved down our throats so relentlessly. To make us aware of Divergent, of course. The movie opened to a healthy 56 million box-office, but it was far behind The Hunger Games’ 152.5 million. Shailene seems like a nice girl, but she’s no Jennifer Lawrence. It wasn’t HER fault, but people were turned off by Shailene’s over-exposure – hopefully it won’t dent her career.

Kids Nicole Kidman The Railway Man

NICOLE KIDMAN KEEPS IT IN THE FAMILY

Nicole Kidman brought her family along when she visited Hollywood to promote her new movie “The Railway Man.” She also attended her friend L’Wren Scott’s funeral. She’s walking through LAX with her husband Keith Urban and their two daughters – Nicole is carrying Faith, 3, and Sunday, 6, is by her side. On the Jimmy Kimmel show Nicole inadvertently referred to her Sunday as her “oldest daughter.” Actually Bella Cruise is her oldest daughter. Little Faith looks like her mom and Sunday looks like her daddy. (Nicole is unusually plain in the trailer for her movie above)

ZAC EFRON: WE KNOW WHAT YOU WERE DOING ON SKID ROW

You only have to hear the words “skid row” to know that Zac Efron is in deep, deep trouble. Imagine a good-looking, wealthy actor like Zac, having a fistfight with transients on the street! He’s following in the dismal footsteps of other former child actors with drug and alcohol problems- Brad Renfro, Nick Stahl, and Edward Furlong. All three of them were drawn the skid row for the worst reasons. Brad ended up overdosing and Nick and Edward are still struggling to stay alive, and their careers are in the dumpster. Hopefully, it’s not too late for Zac.

WATCH OUT FOR JENNY MCCARTHY ON APRIL FOOL’S DAY!

April Fool’s Day is right around the corner and Jenny McCarthy admitted to Cindy Adams that she once pulled a devastating trick on her husband John Asher. Jenny revealed that “I once had my sister write a note telling my husband she’s developed feelings for him. He freaked out!” (They divorced in 2005.) It might be cruel, but if you stop to think about it, this might be a great way to test your mate’s honesty. Have an attractive friend or sibling write such a note and wait and see if your mate brings it up to you- or keeps it a secret! Donnie Wahlberg should consider himself warned.

A few months ago during Grammy week, Soho House employees were gleefully gossiping that an adoring waiter had snatched a wad of chewing gum off Britney Spears’ plate and he planned to take it home and frame it. WHEN DID RUSSELL CROWE TURN INTO A GEEZER?

Granted, his role in Noah seemed to call for more of a geezer type than an action star, but Russell Crowe seems to have lost hunk appeal in real life too. Seems like only yesterday he was a sexy actor. He’s still in his 40’s but that grey beard and extra weight goes a long way in aging him. Crowe used to be athletic and kind of a sexy bad boy, we’re hoping he’ll get back on that bicycle.

Cheaters Chris Martin Divorce Gwyneth Paltrow

GWYNETH PALTROW DIDN’T THINK CHEATING WAS A BIG DEAL

When you stop and think about it, the reasons for the Gwyneth Paltrow/Chris Martin split become clearer. First of all, Gwyneth always had the upper hand- in a rare interview a few years back, Chris admitted that Gwyneth was his first and only romantic partner and modestly added that he felt like a loser who won the lottery when he married the Oscar winner. Gwyneth advised her Goop readers to “Have a relaxed attitude about cheating.” And of course Vanity Fair was investigating rumors of Gwyneth behaving like she had an “open marriage.” Looks like their cancelled story was on the right track. ANGELINA JOLIE KEEPS HER COOL AS USUAL DESPITE COMMOTION

All hell breaks loose when Angelina Jolie and some of her kids arrive at LAX. The paparazzi go crazy and fans and passengers gather to ogle. Yet she manages to make her way through the chaos with a pleasant look on her face and keeps her children calm. You’ve got to give Angie and Brad credit for handling the paparazzi gracefully and maintaining their own sanity.

Andre 3000 has been busy working on his Jimi Hendrix movie.
