When it comes to haircuts, it looks like Jada Pinkett Smith, 42, has outdone her style crazed daughter Willow, 12. Jada seems to have shaved the sides of her head like Miley Cyrus, and kept it long on top. Extreme. Willow is hiding under her hood as they dash through LAX. Nine year old Best Actress nominee Quvenzhane Wallis (pronounced Kwe-VEN-zhah-nay) doesn’t need to win an Oscar – she already won the plum role of Annie in the modernized movie based on the Broadway musical. Will and Jada Smith are among the producers and their daughter Willow was eager to play the part, but the movie took a couple of years to develop and Willow simply got too tall. Besides the movie she was nominated for, “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” Quvenzhane has finished “Twelve Years a Slave” with Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender. Something tells us she’ll be nipping at Willow’s heels for a long time to come.

Back in 2011, Will and Jada Smith announced their production company would be doing the remake of the Broadway show “Annie” with music by Jay-Z, and most important of all, starring their daughter Willow, who was VERY excited about playing the role. They had some trouble settling on a director and the project was postponed several times. Now the movie has come together and Sony hired someone named Will Gluck to direct,but Willow is OUT as Annie. The reason: she simply GREW too much! When Willow had the part she was only nine. Now 11, she’s grown into a very tall girl and can no longer play a child. Ironically, Lilla Crawford, who currently plays “Annie” on Broadway is also 11, but far more petite than Willow. Since she’s too big to play a child, Willow will have to audition for teen roles now. You can count on 11 year old Willow and 13 year old Jaden Smith to attract attention on any red carpet – especially the BET Awards. They certainly weren’t overdressed for the fancy event – both wore t-shirts bearing the phrase MSFTS. This is some sort of fashion project out of Houston that is soliciting online to raise money for expansion. Why the Smith kids are promoting the company makes one wonder if they are involved somehow. They DO know how to use their famous connections to make money. We wonder how Will Smith feels about his Scientology buddy Tom Cruise’s divorce…
Nice to see Willow Smith is doing something good for herself. She’s constantly having extravagant new haircuts, dye jobs, and piercings, but now she has braces on her teeth. The 11 year old singing daughter of Will and Jada Smith went shopping at The Commons mall in Calabasas with her dog and she could almost pass for a boy with her short hair. No more hair-whipping for awhile.
Willow Smith, 11, looks like she’s grown a few inches since the last time we saw her, but she’s still crazy about fashion and surrounds herself with people who make her look hip and cool. It’s been a few years since the seventh grader had the hit song, “Whip My Hair,” so shaving her head wasn’t a big deal. Willow put her singing career on the back burner for awhile because she has two movies coming out this year – “Annie” and “Amulet” – which is based on a Japanese comic.

Willow Smith is 11 going on 28 and she’s already into six inch platforms. (Not to mention green hair!) She was photographed this week shopping in New York when other kids her age were in school. We’re guessing that by the end of the day she’ll have learned that wearing shoes like that for strolling around the city is NOT a great idea!

Her stylist Mariel Haenn put together this outfit for Willow to wear in New York where she’s promoting her new song “Fireball” with Nicki Minaj. Imagine having a celebrity stylist at the age of 11! Who better than the preteen pop sensation to whip her hair for the kids at the traditional Easter Egg Roll at the White House on Monday April 25? Willow couldn’t say no – she got a personal invitation from the president! All the Smiths are thrilled – who doesn’t love buddying up with the first family? Even though Will and Jada are closet Scientologists, you can bet the beleaguered group is happy about this news.

Will Smith was appalled to learn that his family was booked in economy seats on an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Manchester. The Smith family is accompanying 10 year old Willow on her European tour with Justin Bieber. When Will learned that there were NO business or first class seats on the 50 minute flight, he decided to charter a private jet for around $15,000. Aer Lingus staffers were disappointed because they had made special arrangements for the Smiths to get through the Manchester airport quickly. Nothing but the best for Willow.
