LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON: WHY PAULA PATTON SPLIT WITH ROBIN THICKE

Turns out the apple DOESN’T fall far from the tree. We were around back in the days when “Growing Pains” dad Alan Thicke was considered a classic sleazy Hollywood womanizer. He cheated on the women he married and lusted after numerous beauty pageant girls. He was only average looking, but he had great hair, smooth talk, and fame, and he used it all to get what he wanted. We remember stories about his son coming across gorgeous women in various states of undress at his dad’s house. Robin Thicke grew up admiring his father’s triumphs. But Robin, 36, had the same girlfriend, Paula Patton, for 12 years before he married her in 2005. Was he rebelling against his father’s tumultuous love life? We wondered – did he not inherit the cheating gene? Looks like the gene showed up late. It appears Robin has been too loose with his affections and attentions and Paula wants out. That’s why she called off their marriage.

HEIDI KLUM IS HOPING THIS BREAK-UP WON’T BE HARD TO DO

Heidi Klum and her bodyguard turned boyfriend Martin Kristen seem to be ending their relationship in a civilized manner. They were seen entering and leaving an office building separately and appeared to be visiting a lawyer. No doubt they are working out the details of their split after a year and a half together. Multi-millionaire Heidi, whose endured a traumatic divorce from Seal, is offering Martin a generous “severance payout” for many reasons. First of all, Martin WAS her employee and now he’s out of a job. Second, in exchange for the money, Martin will have to agree never to reveal private information about Heidi or her exhusband Seal. Deep down, Heidi Klum knew it wasn’t a great idea to date her bodyguard Martin Kirsten. Now that they’ve split up, the many difficulties in their relationship become apparent. It started as a romance of convenience – Martin, 41, was great with her kids while Heidi, 40, was divorcing Seal and feeling lonely. We’re guessing that Kate Upton’s parents are breathing a sigh of relief since their daughter split with her boyfriend of six months, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Ukrainian born Maksim, 33, is very sexy and a fabulous dancer, but he appeared on 14 seasons of ”Dancing With the Stars” and he never won with any of his partners. Some dance partners complained that he was too impatient and bossy, and he had difficulty curbing his hot temper. Dominating Ukrainians tend to be very controlling with all-American fun-loving girls like Kate, who’s only 21. Luckily, their initial passion burned out and they have both moved on – avoiding future problems.

It makes sense that Jennifer Lopez might be growing a little weary of her two year romance with 18 years younger dancer Casper Smart. Back when Jen was splitting with her husband Marc Anthony, Casper was her rock and a shoulder to lean on. In the beginning Jennifer enjoyed the youthful thrill of “forbidden” romance as the two sneaked around and kissed backstage. Casper fit right into Jennifer’s schedule and she never had to go on the road alone. That’s the benefit of dating someone on your payroll. But eventually it can become annoying when one partner brings in all the money and the other doesn’t contribute. Casper might have become too comfortable and took J.Lo for granted. They’ve had a long run, but the odds are against this lasting much longer.

Eva Mendes How To Catch a Monster Ryan Gosling Split

RYAN GOSLING: IS IT A BAD IDEA TO DIRECT YOUR GIRLFRIEND IN A MOVIE?

It’s been SO long since Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been seen together that we can’t imagine they’re still a couple. Of course they’ve had dry spells before, but never for this long and we think we know why. (Remember, Ryan and Eva hooked up in 2012 when they filmed “The Place Beyond the Pines.”) In May and June, Ryan directed and produced a movie that he wrote called “How To Catch A Monster” and he cast Eva as one of the leads. The movie had a small no-frills budget and filmed in Detroit. It’s entirely possible that Ryan was so wrapped up in his project that he neglected Eva or carelessly bossed her around on the set and they clashed. Gentleman George Clooney,52, has become highly predictable so we’re not surprised to hear that he and Stacy Keibler,33, have split up. The confirmed bachelor is a creature of habit – he’s attracted to slim blondes, decades younger than himself, and less successful than he is. He sweeps them off their feet and they always remain hopeful that they will be THE ONE who inspires George to get married. But two years later, like clockwork, the relationship is over. George is fine with the implication that the girlfriend left HIM because she wanted marriage and children. It makes the split smoother. He is also extremely generous with parting gifts (houses sometimes) so there are no hard feelings. We wonder what George gave Stacy as a goodbye gift.
