With her talk show cancelled, Queen Latifah took to the sandy beaches of Miami for some fun with friends. The Queen Latifah show has stopped production, but new shows will air through March. Latifah remains optimistic- she’s already signed to star as Bessie Smith in the story of her life for HBO this year.

Michael B Jordan looks remarkably composed for an actor who’s been unjustly shut out of all the award shows. His movie “Fruitvale Station” has, for some reason, been totally ignored by Hollywood and HE should have been included in Best Actor nominations. Lack of promotion seemed to doom this excellent film. Jordan is in Miami where he’s been promoting his latest movie “That Awkward Moment” with his costars Zac Efron and Miles Teller.

Is Kathy Griffin’s boyfriend changing his mind about staying OUT of the limelight? For the first time Kathy’s 33 year old boyfriend (she won’t give his name) flaunted their relationship and posed for paparazzi on a beach in Miami. Kathy, 51, looked great in her American flag bikini while her guy kept his clothes on. But this IS the first time they’ve posed for romantic pictures together. Ricky Martin, 40, unloaded another Miami house – this one’s been on and off the market for five years. When he bought the homes he was a playboy leading “La Vida Loca.” Now that he has a serious boyfriend, Carlos Gonzalez, and a set of three year old twin boys, he’s thinking in more practical terms. Like what’s best for Valentino and Matteo. (Every time we see as long staircase like that we think of the tragic story of the little California boy who slid down the banister and cracked his head on the marble floor.) His huge Miami Beach “Mediterranean” house was once on the market for 19.8 million and he finally sold it for 10.6. The family is now living in New York where Ricky is starring as Che in “Evita” on Broadway.

Tom Cruise is looking a bit short next to Katie as the family enjoys some Miami sunshine on their way to a yacht. Isn’t Suri is getting a bit large to be carried? Huffington Post dug up a Scientology video. “We Stand Tall,” from 1990, featuring Tom’s best friend David Miscavige before he became THE top ranking Scientologist. (David’s the short guy in the shirt with a yellow circle on it in the front row of singers.)

Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from celebrities and look at an animal photo. This is a twelve pound baby pygmy hippo born in the Miami zoo. At least in the zoo, these animals don’t get slaughtered by poachers like they do in the Congo. Apparently pygmy hippos are rare compared to the big river hippos and the zoo is very excited. You don’t often get to see a hippo the size of a Prada bag.
Being turned away from some of the hot clubs and restaurants in South Beach has been a jolt to the egos of the Jersey Shore crew. They were surprised to say the least, because they’ve had red carpet treatment in New York and Hollywood and wherever else they’ve been. So they’re trying not to take anything for granted. Pauly D worked at a Gelato store and they still can’t go anywhere without drawing a crowd.
