It was only a matter of time. Madonna’s “little girl” Lourdes Leon resisted getting involved in modeling until her mother’s friend Stella McCartney made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Lola, 19, is still at the University of Michigan studying musical theater, but she took time off to participate in Stella’s Pop fragrance campaign aimed at aspiring about-to-be successful young women. Lourdes Leon has a new boyfriend – and he’s not what you’d expect! He’s cute and preppy – kind of the Patrick Schwarzenegger type. In contrast, Lourdes is still fashion forward with her silver hair and nose ring and crop top. We’re thinking this guy goes to the University of Michigan with her because he looks Midwestern. Cute couple.

Lourdes Leon, 18, has finished her first year at the University of Michigan as a Performing Arts major, and she’s back in New York for summer vacation. She returned home with a nose ring and silver dyed hair (the rage in London.) Lola discourages her mother Madonna from visiting her at school unless absolutely necessary because she creates such a stir. When Madonna DOES visit, they avoid walking down the street together. Will Lola have a summer job? Chances are she’ll work on the Material Girl clothing line before the family takes its yearly vacation in late August.

Madonna’s daughter Lourdes, 18, goes by the name Lola Leon at the University of Michigan where she studies music, theater, and dance. She tries to live just like the other students. Lola shares a freshman dorm room and bunk beds with another student (Imagine being assigned a room with Madonna’s daughter!) and often eats pizza at the canteen with her friends. A source described her as sociable and polite, but quieter than one might expect. Of course she’s really pretty and stylish, and has created quite a stir with the guys on campus. Lola will never be short of dates.

Madonna claims to have briefly attended classes at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor before she took off for New York and eventual stardom. She seems delighted that Lourdes chose to have the experience of attending the University of Michigan instead of a fancy private college. Students were thrilled to see Madonna and Lourdes on campus this week and also in Lourdes’s freshman dorm. (Can you imagine her living in a dorm?) Madonna and Lourdes were also seen eating at a local café near the campus. We’re betting that Lourdes, who is majoring in music and dance, will last longer than her mother.

Madonna looks exhausted at JFK upon returning from a long European vacation. She’s wearing comfy black fur slippers and a big blue scarf to hide behind. Her kids Rocco, David, and Mercy are right behind her. Lourdes returned early because she’s starting college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and she has to get settled. She’s studying music, theater, and dance, and Lourdes is bound to have some fun times there. It’s good for her to get out of New York.

And so it begins…Madonna’s 17 year old offspring Lourdes Leon is making progress in her pursuit of stardom. Not only is she helping design the Material Girl fashion collection, but Lola has landed a significant role in her La Guardia High School production of the musical classic “Grease.” Lourdes cleverly by- passed the good girl role of Sandy, and auditioned for the wisecracking bad girl Rizzo. Rizzo is a fast greaser girl and a leader of the Pink Ladies clique. Plus she has all the best lines! It’s the same part her mother would have wanted to play in high school. She’s just about to turn 16, and Lourdes Leon is planning her future away from her mother Madonna and Kabbalah. Madonna is a controlling parent, and Lola wants her freedom. Right now Lourdes attends LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in Manhattan, and when she graduates, she hopes to move on to Bard College, a private university with a good performing arts department, which is located 90 miles outside of New York. Lourdes knows she will need to be in the city often to work on her Material Girl clothing and makeup collection, so the location is perfect. Far away, but not TOO far away. According to The Sun, she’s already earned enough money with Material Girl to pay her own tuition and expenses so THAT might discourage Madonna from pushing her to study elsewhere.

Lourdes Leon turns sweet 16 next month and you can bet she’s giving her mother a hard time. Health conscious Madonna couldn’t have been happy when Lourdes was photographed SMOKING on the street a few months ago. In spite of that nasty habit, Lourdes has already grown much taller than her mother. Certainly Madonna remembers when SHE couldn’t live without a cigarette, so how angry can she be with her daughter? Lourdes has incorporated a cross into her outfit- don’t know how that works with Kabbalah.
To no one’s surprise, Kelly Osbourne, 27, has been replaced as spokesperson for Madonna and Lourdes Leon’s Material Girl clothing line at Macy’s. Kelly simply became too mature looking to sell the teen aimed clothing line. Not only did Kelly dye her hair GREY- to Madonna’s complete horror – but she started dressing like a matron, wearing Badgley Mischka gowns. Material Girl needs a hip young image so Madonna replaced Kelly with Mick Jagger’s 20 year old daughter Georgia, who is already a successful model.
