RACHEL BROSNAHAN’S HUSBAND HAS NO PROBLEM WEARING A DRESS

Rachel Brosnahan’s husband really got into the spirit of the GLAAD Media Awards. The Marvelous Mrs Maisel star looks a bit doubtful, but hubby looks delighted with himself in the red chiffon gown he wore under his evening jacket. Rachel is an advocate for the LGBTQ community and GLAAD recognizes inclusive members of the media. We didn’t realize that Rachel’s husband, actor Jason Ralph, had such a sense of humor about himself that he can enjoy wearing a dress. It’s nice to see a guy not obsessed with his masculinity.

CELINE DION’S LIFE WILL GO ON

How Celine Dion managed to carry on and perform with her husband Rene Angelil slowly dying is a mystery. We have to give her a lot of credit. Apparently Celine didn’t tell their 3 sons that their father was terminally ill. When doctors gave him the bad news he insisted Celine return to work after she took off a year to care for him. His doctors didn’t expect Rene to survive until Christmas but he did. Celine arranged to have a lavish Christmas celebration for the family. She’s been performing in Las Vegas since September, dreading this awful moment. Rene, 73, died today. It must be something of a relief at this point. We feel for her.

IVANA TRUMP AND HER ITALIAN STALLION

Ivana Trump and her 23 years younger ex-husband Rossano Rubicondi seem to have kissed and made up. They married in 2008 and divorced less than a year later, claiming they each wanted to live in different cities. They have reunited several times, although the Italian wanna-be actor was rumored to have married someone else in Italy. Last year he expressed a desire to become a lounge singer. Taylor Armstrong and her little girl Kennedy look like they don’t have a care in the world while shopping in Beverly Hills. Since her financially despondent husband Russell committed suicide, Taylor may have a lot of money worries. She was so eager to keep her job on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” that she filed for divorce because Bravo didn’t want her litigious husband around. Yes, she chose her reality show over her husband. Understandable if he was abusive. But we’re thinking she really needs the money now, and will do anything to stay on the show.

We’re betting not a lot of people recognized “The Good Wife” star Julianna Margulies in NYC as she strolled with her husband Keith Lieberthal and their son Kieran. They’re all bundled up in puff jackets. People often comment that Julianna’s husband looks like a movie star but she quickly points out that Keith is a lawyer and Harvard Law School grad. When she received her SAG award last year she actually thanked her in-laws for raising such a great son – THAT’S how crazy she is about Keith.

Husband I Love Lucy Lucille Ball Thanks for the Memories

LUCILLE BALL PICKED THE RIGHT HUSBAND THE SECOND TIME AROUND

Memories of Lucille Ball: Lucy was born on August 6, 1911 so Saturday would have been her 100th birthday. After she divorced Desi Arnaz , Lucy married 13 years younger stand-up comic Gary Morton, and he seemed to be the perfect husband for the rest of her life. We remember seeing them together at Pips playing backgammon, and once we ran into Lucy and Gary shopping in Carl’s Market. Gary pushed the cart and Lucy pointed to the things she wanted and he scooped them up. They bought lots of canned tuna on sale. Another time we were hovering outside her dressing room at some event and we overheard that distinctive deep, gravelly voice of hers saying “Gary freshen my drink, will you?” We always wondered what made her voice become so deep – smoking, drinking? We also visited Lucy’s Beverly Hills house before it was sold and destined to be torn down. She had a hidden bar- you pushed a button on the den wall and a well-stocked hidden bar popped out. We miss Lucy.

HER HUSBAND SEEMS HEALTHY AND MARCIA CROSS HAS NEVER LOOKED HAPPIER

It’s nice to see “Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross and her twin daughters Eden and Savannah at the Santa Monica farmer’s market as usual. This time is special because Marcia’s husband Tom Mahoney accompanied them and it looks like his health is much improved. In 2009 Tom, a stock broker, was treated for cancer and he looked gaunt and lost his hair and was rarely seen in public. It’s apparent that Marcia is happy and grateful that Tom is back and energetically playing with the kids.

FRAN DRESCHER’S GAY HUSBAND MADE HER A STAR

Back in the 90’s, Fran Drescher introduced us to her smart and delightful husband, writer Peter Marc Jacobson, and we wondered if she was the only one who didn’t know he was gay. They divorced in 1999 and Fran says that’s when he came out to her. They met in high school and were married for 21 years before Peter revealed his secret. Fran is now openly discussing the relationship and says they are still the best of friends and confidants. (They created “The Nanny” together) We happen to think having a clever gay husband sounds like a very modern and fun relationship – as long as he has good health insurance. EVERYBODY needs that.
