Deep down, Heidi Klum knew it wasn’t a great idea to date her bodyguard Martin Kirsten. Now that they’ve split up, the many difficulties in their relationship become apparent. It started as a romance of convenience – Martin, 41, was great with her kids while Heidi, 40, was divorcing Seal and feeling lonely. But Martin was always Heidi’s EMPLOYEE and felt awkward in her celebrity world. How did he know if he was on or off-duty? Did Martin aspire to a better career? Heidi probably kept the romance going longer than she should have because her children really liked him. But Heidi and Martin are from two different worlds and had a lot going against them.

It’s funny how the National Enquirer sometimes contradicts its own scoops without flinching! In July they wrote that Heidi Klum had agreed to marry her bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kristen – but only if he signed an iron clad prenup that would not allow him to walk away with a dime of her 70 million dollar fortune. THIS week they wrote that Heidi heard that Martin planned to propose with a Christmas ring and she told him not to. She’s perfectly happy the way things are and doesn’t want to rock the boat. So what’s the REAL story? We’re betting it IS a problem when one person has SO much more money than the other. Plus, she’s his boss!

HEIDI KLUM SHOPS FOR THE NEW PUPPY

Heidi Klum and her bodyguard/boyfriend Martin Kristen took her 9 year old lookalike daughter Leni to Pet Depot to shop for her new puppy. They picked out a bed and leash and other necessities whil Leni lovingly cuddled her fluffy dog. Sweet. Leni is the biological daughter of Italian formula One director Flavio Briatore, but she was adopted by Heidi’s ex-husband Seal. She looks a LOT like her model mother.

Heidi Klum’s bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten is in the habit of taking charge when the family goes shopping at The Grove. He walks confidently in the lead- perhaps to frighten off paparazzi. Heidi’s kids are very fond of him so let’s hope the relationship lasts awhile. We wonder if he got a raise when he started dating Heidi.

It’s the 12th season for Project Runway and maybe Heidi Klum and the other producers figured they’d better spice it up if they want to stay on the air. This billboard popped up on Sunset Strip and many other places in LA, but the city ordered it taken down. Someone decided it was obscene. We’re not sure about obscene, but it doesn’t make much sense because it looks like a heterosexual orgy and that couldn’t be further from what the design show is about.

HEIDI KLUM IS TAKING NO CHANCES WHEN IT COMES TO MARRIAGE

Heidi Klum, 40, and her bodyguard-turned-boyfriend Martin Kristen, 45, have been arguing over the fact that she’s not so interested in getting married again, but Martin thinks it’s the next logical step in their relationship. They have already exchanged gold promise rings and Martin cares for her children like a father. Heidi and her children both love Martin and she doesn’t want to lose him, so she’s trying to work something out. Martin is uncomfortable acting as both bodyguard and boyfriend – he’d like more equality in their relationship and Heidi can’t blame him. According to the National Enquirer, Heidi is planning to have an iron clad prenup, and her 70 million dollar fortune will be held in trust for her children. Martin would walk away from the marriage with nothing. We’re guessing he’ll cooperate.

HEIDI KLUM’S FASHION PROJECT IS HER OWN BOYFRIEND

Like Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum wants her man to look GOOD so she took him shopping at the cool John Varvatos store in West Hollywood. Heidi’s bodyguard-turned-boyfriend Martin Kristen usually wears jeans and t- shirts or black suits while he’s on duty, but now that he’s squiring fashionable Heidi to fancy places, he needs a better wardrobe. Plus, he gets his picture taken almost as often as she does. It looks like Heidi bought him a suit or jacket and maybe some shoes from the fashion forward shop. It’s interesting that Heidi hosts Project Runway, while John Varvatos appears on the competitive design show Fashion Star.

HEIDI KLUM AND MARTIN KRISTEN JUST TOOK THEIR ROMANCE TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Something has changed in the relationship between Heidi Klum and her bodyguard/boyfriend Martin Kristen. For the first time they are out in the open with their affection. In other words, they are holding hands in front of the children. In the past they have always kept a professional and discreet distance when Heidi’s four offspring were around. This weekend Heidi and Martin were very much a couple at the park where the kids were playing soccer. Which reminds us of the dilemma: How does Martin know when he’s ON or OFF duty? One more tiny problem for Heidi: She just debuted as a judge on “America’s Got Talent” and the audience is finding her German accent difficult to understand.

Well, THIS is a first! Heidi Klum and her bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kristen are actually looking coy and flirty with each other at the park! And he cracked a SMILE. Usually they’re very careful not to touch each other or look affectionate in public. We are extremely curious about their romance – we assume he is still on her payroll. When the romance started – did Martin get a raise? Do they live together? How does he know when he is off or on duty? The kids seem very fond of him too so obviously they have worked something out.
