HYGIENE IS NO BIG DEAL TO AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANT CASEY ABRAMS

An American Idol backstage source shared some gossip about contestant Casey Abrams. The 20 year old singer resists being cleaned up and dressed up for the show. He loves his beard and bushy hair, but hair people on the show have gradually trimmed and shortened his hair and beard against his will. Worst of all, he’s too busy to shower very often and can be not-so-pleasant to get close to, if you know what we mean. This is what we’ve heard from a good source, so don’t kill the messenger.

American Idol Demands Diva Jennifer Lopez

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING: SYMPATHETIC JENNIFER LOPEZ

Jennifer Lopez may seem awfully sweet and down to earth on “American Idol” these days, but when it comes to being a demanding diva, she hasn’t changed a bit! The Idol judges were put up at the Las Vegas Mirage hotel for 48 hours during auditions, and a hotel insider tattled to The Enquirer that she drove the hotel staff crazy and was on of the most impossible celebrities they’ve ever encountered. Upon her arrival Jennifer demanded two cribs for her kids and a show staffer was sent out to get them because the show was responsible. Yet, Jennifer kept calling hotel reception demanding to know where they were. In fact, she complained to the HOTEL 20 times before the staffer produced the cribs. She also ordered 12 rolling racks for wardrobe, 20 mirrors, and a ton of spotlights for her makeup team. It took around 50 people to deal with her hair and make up, and she only had two changes on the show!

Some of you out there might not have heard of Grindr – it’s an application for iPads and iPhones using GPS that allows men seeking men to connect based on LOCATION. That means if a guy in Sarasota, Florida, wants to hook up with another guy on a Thursday night, he can peruse at a selection of photos of available men in his immediate vicinity, and if he finds one he likes, contact him right away. Adam Lambert loves to use Grindr to find company when he’s on the road, which is pretty often. Of course when you’re a celebrity, it’s a bit more complicated. Adam conceals his identity until the last minute. When he finally admits who he is, some guys get way too impressed, while others just don’t believe him and think he’s a crackpot!

Paula Abdul is more than ready to start judging dancers instead of singers on her new CBS show “Live to Dance.” Above she was photographed leaving the auditions in New York, and on her way to Los Angeles where auditions began today in Burbank. She seems really happy that contestants have few limitations- they can be of any age, group or solo – and excel at any kind of dancing. Who needs American Idol, anyway?

JENNIFER LOPEZ’S EXHUSBAND OJANI NOA HAS PLANS TO SURPRISE HER ON AMERICAN IDOL

Jennifer Lopez, 41, is in for a rocky start as a judge in American Idol if her exhusband Ojani Noa has his way. Ojani, 36, has announced that he will stand in line with other Idol hopefuls to audition in front of the judges, including Jennifer! (Supposedly, he has a decent voice) Ever since Jennifer fired Ojani from his job as manager of her restaurant Madre’s in 2002, he’s become a thorn in her side. In the past few years, he’s threatened to write a book about their marriage, make a movie of it, or release personal video tapes, and she was forced to take legal action. This little stunt could be very amusing.

AEROSMITH IS NOT HAPPY ABOUT STEVEN TYLER’S JOB ON AMERICAN IDOL

Steven Tyler’s band Aerosmith has been in turmoil since he announced he planned to be a judge on American Idol. The rest of the band knows that the Idol gig would mean Steven won’t be available to perform as often. That means they ALL earn less money. Last year the band was ready to dump Steven and get another lead singer because he only seemed interested in his solo career and didn’t care about the band. Plus they suspected he was abusing substances and behaving erratically. The guys patched things up THEN, but American Idol could be disaster for the group, which has been together for 40 years!

AMERICAN IDOL’S BACK-UP PLAN: JENNIFER LOPEZ

What do YOU think about Jennifer Lopez replacing Ellen Degeneres on American Idol? According to Nikki Finke, it’s a done deal whether you like it or not, and both parties seem quite happy. Ellen wanted OUT of her contract a year before it was up- she said doing the show was no fun. Jennifer’s career can use a boost, PLUS she knows a bit more about singing that Ellen does. Jennifer’s diva-ish glamour will also add a visual element to the judges panel. As for replacing Simon Cowell – everyone hoped for Elton John, but he’s too expensive and too busy. Steven Tyler is currently in talks for that slot.

RYAN SEACREST AND JULIANNE HOUGH: TEMPERATURES RISING!

Mr MoneybagsRyan Seacrest has obviously grown extremely fond of “Dancing With The Stars” ingenue Julianne Hough. He’s been cruising on a yacht around Italy with his buddies and a gaggle of model types, but he didn’t look REALLY happy until today when Julianne flew in from the USA and boarded his yacht in Portofino. She ran up the gangplank and leaped into his joyfully open arms and they kissed and hugged for the longest time. Later they strolled hand in hand around the port and size-wise, they ARE a great match.

ALL EYES WERE ON AMERICAN IDOL’S RYAN SEACREST AT THE LAKERS GAME

Well-groomed Ryan Seacrest was rather full of himself at the last Lakers game. He was seated courtside and surrounded by some of Hollywood biggest celebrities- Eddie Murphy, Sylvester Stallone, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, but fans only had eyes for the American Idol host. They climbed over the famous actors to get to Ryan, and mobbed him asking for autographs and photos! Ryan the Big Shot stood up and started bossing everyone around “One at a time!” – “Let’s form a line over here!” while the movie stars watched. American Idol RULES.
