JENNIFER LOPEZ AND CHELSEA HANDLER: OPPOSITES ATTRACT

Thursday is becoming American Idol night at Ago restaurant in West Hollywood. Ryan Seacrest often dines there after the show with Randy Jackson and sometimes Simon Cowell. Jennifer Lopez was also seen there Thursday with about ten people including – of course- her boyfriend Casper Smart and also Chelsea Handler. Jen and Casper snuggled up while Chelsea kept the table laughing. It’s funny to think of Jennifer and Chelsea as buddies because health conscious Jennifer doesn’t drink at all and party girl Chelsea’s QUITE the opposite.

He has his people call ahead to upscale women’s stores and ask if Steven and Erin can have private time to shop in the store alone for HOURS. Sometimes they’re still in a boutique at midnight, trying on and piling clothes on the counter. Steven loves women’s scarves, fancy shirts, extravagant jackets, jewelry – just about everything. He always spends a lot of money on himself and Erin, so the stores are more than happy to give him private shopping time.

HYPOCHONDRIAC SIMON COWELL WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER

X-Factor producer and judge, Simon Cowell, was a regular at the Whole Foods in Hollywood near CBS – clerks joked that he bought extreme amounts of vitamin supplements and alternative health products. Cowell just revealed to GQ that he is, indeed, a hypochondriac, and drinks three smoothies for breakfast every day containing almost every potent fruit and vegetable. Not only is he an incredibly fussy eater but “He is given a weekly intravenous drip with B12, magnesium, vitamin C, and — in his words — “something for your liver.” The I.V. (suggested by Kylie Minogue’s sister) is administered after his skin is numbed, and sits in his arm for around thirty minutes, in meetings and even on set.” No wonder women find him rather hard to live with.

Since the show revived her ailing career and helped her get her first hit record in nearly a decade, Jennifer now says she has so many opportunities that she has to make a choice about what she wants to do. She can’t do it ALL. Fortunately, she has time to make up her mind. Of course, what she MEANS is she wants more money! She made around 12 million dollars her first season and she DID help improve the ratings. But Jennifer knows that Simon Cowell was paid 35 million a season and she wants a bigger piece of the pie. American Idol and Dancing with the Stars are off the air, and DWTS dancer Mark Ballas and AI contestant Pia Toscano waited in line for brunch at Toast Cafe on Memorial Day just like everyone else. Their undercover romance is now out in the open and they were hugging and kissing at every opportunity. Pia left her boyfriend in New York and she’s planning to stay in LA, so Mark has a new dance partner.

Ryan was having dinner at Ago in West Hollywood with some politicians and he was overheard chatting about his ambitions. Another diner listened while Ryan talked about his desire to run for office. “The only thing shocking in my past is my school yearbook photo!” Ryan joked with his dinner companions. He admitted he wants to become mayor of Los Angeles one day.

JENNIFER LOPEZ IS NOT PARTICULARLY FOND OF WOMEN

American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez might be surprised to hear that she is already getting a reputation on the set. Observers describe her as a “guy’s girl.” In other words, she is sweet and cuddly and adorable whenever there’s a man around. But if there’s not a guy in sight and she’s in the presence of women, Jennifer instantly becomes grouchy and curt and she has no time for pleasantries. These are the kind of women who wonder why they don’t have many female friends and assume it’s because other women are “jealous.” (No wonder she’s the only female judge on the show.)
