LEONARDO DICAPRIO: NO ADMISSION
Last week Leonardo DiCaprio was in his Prius buzzing down Hollywood Boulevard late at night when he got pulled over for speeding. (Who knew a hybrid car could go that fast!) Unsympathetic cops gave him a ticket and Leo realized he’d pulled into an open parking space and decided to leave his car there and avoid the valet parking jam at the after hours club he was headed to. He got out and walked the several blocks to the club and noted with satisfaction that there was a LONG line of cars for valet parking. But when he got to the rope he was told fire marshalls had closed the place down – it was way over capacity and NO ONE could get in. Of course photogs and fans and autograph hounds noticed Leo and they followed him RELENTLESSLY on his long walk back to his car on Hollywood Blvd. Everybody has an off night once in awhile.
We hear that Britney’s hair has been removed from sale on eBay. Could it be someone purchased it privately? We only hope the possessor of this castoff hair has the sense to RUSH it to the nearest lab and have it analyzed so we can find out what drugs – if any – she has in her system. The only substance we can picture causing the urge to shave one’s head is crystal meth. But Red Bull may also play a part in this.
A reader sent us this photo of Boy George and insisted he sees a striking resemblance between Britney and the lead singer of Culture Club. We don’t happen to think all bald heads look alike, but Britney does appear to be past her prime like George. We think it’s time for Britney’s mother to step forward and take control – to smack her daughter and march her into immediate and disciplined treatment.
Paris Hilton celebrated her birthday in Las Vegas this weekend at Nobu with a group of friends. The table included her sister Nicky with her boyfriend David Katzenberg, Nicole Richie with Joel Madden, and Paris with TWO dates: Brandon Davis and Stavros Niarchos. Other diners had their appetites challenged when Paris hopped from Brandon to Stavros, alternately making out sloppily with one after the other – between bites of sushi! Ewwww. We hear the threesome also shared a room at The Palms. What’ s up with THAT?
Looks like Whitney Houston is starting to have FUN again – without getting too carried away. She and Ray J spent the weekend in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace. They had a packed schedule. On Saturday afternoon they were supposed to go to the All Star basketball game but they skipped it to spend romantic private time in their suite! On Saturday night they caused considerable excitement when they turned up at Jay Z’s party at Tao. Whitney was startled by the furor she caused. The crowd got so carried away at the sight of the pair that security guards were assigned to surround their table. Even Beyonce had a hard time getting through to say hello. Ray J’s sex video partner Kim Kardashian showed up on the red carpet and posed for photos. But when reporters told her Ray J and Whitney were inside, she gulped and changed her mind about going into the party. We wonder why. Hmmm.
Janet Jackson’s relationship with Jermaine Dupri remains on thin ice. Since Janet’s album fizzled and Jermaine left her record label, things haven’t been the same. Now that Jermaine is working at Island Records, he and Janet have less in common. Jermaine had a big industry party at Xenii last week and Janet spent most of her evening alone in the VIP room while Jermaine was onstage working the mic. She looked annoyed and complained when the VIP room became really crowded. A friend remarked “Janet and Jermaine used to be very cozy, and he rarely left her side. Now there’s distance.” The friend said “If Jermaine could get Janet away from Virgin Records and signed on HIS Island label, they’d be much happier- but it’s not likely to happen.”
So Britney went on a self destructive spree and first got her head shaved and then went to a tattoo parlor for some skin art. We’re thinking that SHE IS TURNING HERSELF INTO JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. She’s already got the wife-beater. Have you ever heard the feminist phrase “I’ve BECOME the man I wanted to marry?” (Her neck even looks thicker.)
Since the Anna Nicole Smith drama started, Hollywood writers have been frantically scribbling to be first with the ultimate script based on her life and death. And don’t think ideas about who should play Anna aren’t already being tossed about. The only thing slowing down the production of Anna’s life story is the fact that there is no end in sight. Things keep coming up. Our whimsical colleague, Simon Doonan of the New York Observer, believes that Nicole Kidman should snatch up the rights to Anna Nicole’s biopic ASAP. He gleefully suggests that if Nic would pack on the pounds to play Anna, it could be her “Raging Bull.” We LOVE that mental picture!
As if Posh Spice didn’t have ENOUGH to do, now she’s agreed to a reunion with the Spice Girls. We can hardly believe it. Right now Posh is househunting for her move to LA, and besides designing her jean line, she’s negotiating a deal for a reality series – at home with the Beckhams. All five original Spice Girls, who split six years ago, will be reuniting for a charity concert in London in the fall. Two of the girls are expecting babies – Scary Spice Melanie Brown in March, and Baby Spice Emma Bunton in the summer, so that’s the soonest they could do it. The show will be followed by a national tour- we hope they add the USA. Whether it’s a good idea for busy Victoria to leave David Beckham home alone at the mercy of Hollywood starlets remains to be seen.
It’s not over between Whitney Houston and her young boyfriend Ray J. His x-rated video with Kim Kardashian was just a bump in the road and the couple is back on track. Friends say the romance is definitely on and they continue to spend a lot of time together. Whitney’s recent meal with her ex Bobby Brown was strictly business. Everyone feels Ray is a good influence in helping Whitney stay sober. Ray is also helping Whitney with her comeback album and they recorded a song together “It’ll Be OK” for a project of HIS. Since they were mobbed by photographers recently when they dined at Madeo’s, they’re only going to out of the way places or staying at home together. Whitney’s not in the mood for big public scenes yet.
