LINDSAY LOHAN: IF THE JUDGE CAN’T TAKE HER FREEDOM – WHAT ABOUT HER MONEY?

Again Lindsay Lohan can laugh in the face of the law – although she was sentenced to 30 days for violating probation after shoplifting. Due to overcrowding in the Los Angeles prison system, she’ll be released in a matter of minutes and won’t even see he inside of a cell. To top it off, the judge kindly allowed her a week to surrender so she can complete her million dollar photo layout for Playboy. This hunkalicious actor is close to A-list, thanks to his starring role as a popular action hero. Although he plays a clean-cut paragon of virtue on the big screen, in real life he has an out of control coke problem. He’s so far gone that he was recently banned from an exclusive Hollywood club because he pulled out a vial and started snorting coke at his table in the VIP section.

We can’t help but dwell for a moment on Justin Bieber’s appearance on Jay Leno last night. Justin has always looked years younger than his actual age. For the first time, the 17 year old singer seemed to be growing up. At last! First of all, he got rid of that little boy bowl haircut that he fussed about all the time. With his new short spikey hair he looks a little like the late teen actor Corey Haim. Even more important, his voice is definitely getting deeper when he speaks so his singing voice is in transition. It’s about time.

Whether Kim Kardashian will return her wedding gifts has become a burning issue in Hollywood. According to etiquette experts, the marriage was very short and the gifts should absolutely be returned, along with a personal note from the bride. Kim had registered for $172,000 worth of place settings, crystal etc. But we’re thinking that ever-practical Kris Jenner might have already returned the gifts to stores for cold hard cash! If that’s the case, Kim could always donate the value of each gift to charity and inform all the disgruntled guests who gave them. 400 wedding attendees will be waiting to see what happens. We wonder if the Vera Wang wedding dress will be auctioned off on eBay….

MICKEY ROURKE AND ERIC ROBERTS 27 YEARS LATER

Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts have been pals since they filmed “The Pope of Greenwich Village” (a great movie) in which they played two losers, back in 1984. (top photo) When Mickey gave his Best Actor acceptance speech at The Independent Spirit Awards when he won for “The Wrestler” in 2009, he implored Hollywood moguls to hire his buddy Eric Roberts and give him a chance for a comeback. Eric showed up for Mickey’s hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theater this week.

EVEN JOHNNY DEPP COULDN’T SAVE “THE RUM DIARY”

Johnny Depp has been EVERYWHERE promoting “The Rum Diary” (magazines, TV, even colleges) which opened this weekend, but it flopped anyway. Depp has long been a fan of alcoholic drugged-up journalist Hunter S Thompson, and he was responsible for getting the movie made. Apparently moviegoers do not share Johnny’s fascination with self-indulgent Thompson. It only pulled in around five million dollars and could be the biggest flop of Johnny’s career. This still of Johnny from the movie, which takes place in the late 50’s, almost – almost – makes us want to see it.
