KATY PERRY: WORST BEACH LOOK EVER

Okay, Katy Perry has REALLY white skin and has to be careful under the sun, but is that an excuse to enjoy a beach outing looking like THIS? Nobody would have recognized her if she was alone, but Orlando Bloom was also in their group, and looking quite good. (Katy’s mom is right behind her and Daisy is in her arms.) But Katy, that AWFUL hat and that equally unflattering muumuu beach cover is a criminal combination for such an attractive woman, and in this case, even the mask is not flattering. (As we all know, some people look BETTER in a mask.) You don’t have to be stick-thin to look decent on the beach. In this get-up, she could be mistaken for Orlando’s mother. Has Katy forgotten that she is more than a mom- she’s a major celebrity!

GWEN STEFANI: THE OC NEEDS YOUR HELP!

This is a plea to Gwen Stefani! She is probably the most famous celebrity to grow up in Orange County, California, and the OC needs HER now! A friend of ours volunteers at the OC-based charity Power of One- they host drive-thru events handing out food to people in need. The charity is desperate to raise enough money to buy a forklift and refrigerated truck. They launched a GoFundMe campaign and The OC Register wrote about it – but it’s not enough. They need a big celebrity to promote this local charity. One of The Real Housewives of Orange County already turned them down and refused to promote the fundraiser on social media. That brings us to Gwen- SHE has always had a big heart. If she knew about this charity Power of One, she would most certainly help by promoting it to her social media followers. Readers- please pass this info around, so MAYBE Gwen will get wind of it – it’s a long-shot – but worth a try!

SHARON STONE DIDN’T SLEEP WITH THIS LEADING MAN

We just ordered Sharon Stone’s book, The Beauty of Living Twice, mainly because back in the 90’s when we were writing for Star Magazine, she was always up to something. We are eager to read Sharon’s take on exploitation in Hollywood- we just wish she would name names. Apparently the book mentions a situation where her director advised her to sleep with her leading man so they’d “have better chemistry.” At first we assumed that the leading man was Michael Douglas because, while they were filming Basic Instinct, a tipster called me and revealed that Sharon and Michael Douglas had just spent they night together at the hotel where he worked. It seemed very plausible – Michael was (admittedly) a smooth operator in those days, and Sharon was both beautiful and single. But we don’t think Basic Instinct’s director Paul Verhoeven was the director who advised Sharon to sleep with her leading man. THAT was most likely Philip Noyce, the director of Sliver. Sliver was produced by Bob Evans and the Joe Eszterhas wrote the screenplay – two of the sleaziest misogynists in Hollywood. Sharon and Billy Baldwin loathed each other while filming that movie, and it showed.

BILLIE EILISH MIGHT START DRESSING LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!

This is amazing progress. Billie Eilish has been described as dressing “like a quarterback.” Her clothes are designer stylish, but four sizes too large. She admitted to Vanity Fair that she struggles with negative body image and likes to keep herself covered. In fact, she was HORRIFIED when a paparazzi caught her in normal clothing once – shorts and a t-shirt. But her love of fashion is WINNING. First she did her hair platinum blonde and fans loved it. Now she’s wearing her favorite army colors in strappy bondage pants and sweater. And they FIT! Inch by inch, she’s experimenting with normality!

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS MRS MAISEL DOING WITH JOHN WATERS?

Rachel Brosnahan’s character Midge has made a lot of progress since The Marvelous Mrs Maisel started tentatively filming season 4 with STRICT Covid rules back in January. Note the clear bubble umbrella in the top photo with it’s own oxygen source on top!
(they took excellent care of their leading lady) Shooting has off and on continued in New York, and this week shows how much progress has been made. Midge is being filmed seated on a park bench (note the vintage coke) and she’s quite close to the two other actors – including John Waters far right! Can’t WAIT to see who Waters plays on the series!

WHAT’S WRONG WITH RAMI MALEK?

This fuss over a high school photo made us totally change our mind about Rami Malek. Despite his incredible success, Malek has always seemed to be rather insecure and anxious, but essentially a nice guy. Rachel Bilson posted this cute photo of them together on a high school senior outing to see a Broadway show. They both look natural, happy and adorable. In fact, it’s one of the best pics we’ve ever seen of Rami! Regardless, he asked her, rather coldly, to remove the photo, with no explanation. She THOUGHT they were friends! He embarrassed her and didn’t even respond when she deleted the photo. We were as astonished by his behavior as SHE was! No WONDER she talked about it- she was trying to figure out what she did wrong. The answer is NOTHING – either Rami is too self-important to have a sense of humor – or he just has bad manners. He’s not the guy we thought he was.

Madonna has some hot competition at home when it comes to pin-ups- Lourdes Leon, 24, is cashing in on those inherited good looks and family fame. She’s about five inches taller than her famous mom and getting lots of modeling jobs. Among other things, she’s the face of Marc Jacobs’ Spring campaign.

STEVE MARTIN AND JANE LYNCH: WHO’S IMITATING WHO?

We were still in the process of obsessing over Only Murders in the Building, the new Hulu comedy/mystery series currently filming in New York, when Steve Martin posted this photo of himself and Jane Lynch dressed oddly alike on set. The plot thickens… We couldn’t figure out where she fits into the picture – she’s not mentioned in the cast which includes Steve, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. They star in the 10 part series about three strangers obsessed with true crime who unite to solve a mystery in their building. Steve Martin co-wrote the script (he also co-wrote my favorite title: Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid) so anything can happen..we just can’t WAIT to see it!

WHAT’S BAD ABOUT SHARON OSBOURNE LEAVING THE TALK

First of all, we don’t necessarily think Sharon Osbourne is a racist – that important word is tossed around much too freely these days. However we DO think Sharon was wrong to defend the obnoxious Piers Morgan. Sure he – and everyone else – has a right to their OPINION. But we don’t have to LIKE him calling Meghan Markle a liar, among other things. His personal vendetta against her should be kept personal. We also didn’t like Sharon BLAMING producers and showrunners for “blindsiding” her. She said what she said. For many years we have covered Ozzie and Sharon, and all sources indicated that she is basically NOT a nice person, and like Morgan, sometimes feeds her own ego by demeaning others. (We totally BELIEVE Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini’s comments about Sharon.) She has always also been quite vulgar in her language (remember all the bleeps on the Osbournes reality show?) We were surprised that she could tone herself DOWN sufficiently for The Talk. Now she’s leaving the show and we have two complaints: #1 -Is she really being paid TEN million dollars to leave? That sounds SO wrong!
#2- The Talk has been slipping alarmingly in the ratings for the past year, and might be canceled. If it IS canceled, we predict Sharon will brag that it’s because SHE left!

USHER IS NEVER ALONE

Usher is a one-woman man, at least one woman at a time. His relationships last awhile, but it seems like whenever he gets a divorce he already has another girlfriend waiting in the wings and then he repeats. His last marriage ended in 2018 and he immediately latched on to his present girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea- she’s from Miami and happens to be a VP at Epic Records. Usher has two lookalike sons, 11 and 12, with his first wife Tameka Foster. In September, Jennifer gave birth to Usher’s first daughter, Sovereign. They had dinner in Malibu last night and she must be lots of fun- she had Usher doubled over, laughing hysterically when they left …
