JENNIFER LAWRENCE: BEST DRESSED AT CANNES

Nice to see Jennifer Lawrence at the Cannes Film Festival looking sensational in red without any see-thru fabric, exposed body parts, or low necklines. (And she has less makeup on than Johnny Depp) She wasn’t there to flaunt herself – she produced a documentary called “Bread and Roses” about the everyday lives of Afghan women bravely fighting the Taliban. She has NEVER looked better……

BEST DRESSED: WINNIE HARLOW

Wow! English model Winnie Harlow knocked ‘em dead at the British Fashion Awards 2022 in this amazingly futuristic outfit that suits the occasion. The whole thing looks so perfect on her unique skin tones that we imagine it was custom designed for her. It looks like a sheer one piece bodysuit under a cutout bodysuit with metallic touches. Her shoes are anti-gravity wedges without heels! How encouraging it is to see something we haven’t seen before!

BEST DRESSED EMMA CORRIN – PRINCESS DIANA WOULD HAVE AGREED

Our absolute FAVORITE outfit at The Emmys. We had never heard of 25 year old actress Emma Corrin before last night – turns out, she played Princess Diana in season 4 of The Crown. THIS is a modern woman not afraid to look different. First of all, please note her simple non-aggressive makeup. She looks natural and pretty – the polar opposite of a Kardashian. The simplicity of her Miu Miu dress is startling – no plunging neckline, no glitter, no provocative slits up to the hip. Just a beautiful futuristic silhouette, with a matching headpiece and gloves. We could live without the black nails, but they do add whimsy…

BEST DRESSED PRESCHOOLER: LEA COOPER

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk’s four year old daughter Lea is already a fierce fashionista. New York paparazzi photograph Bradley and Irina taking their little girl to and from school frequently and every day she is dressed to kill. Some days cute Lea wears a pink or white ballerina outfit, and we’ve seen her dressed like a princess with a crown. She also has a leopard dress and matching leopard shoes, and is frequently seen in designer fashions by Burberry. That’s what happens when your mom is a famous model! We cannot imagine how other students react to Lea’s amazing wardrobe…

CAREY MULLIGAN IS STILL A WINNER

Carey Mulligan may not have won a Best Actress Oscar, but she won our Best Dressed vote. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a significant group of red carpet gowns, so the Oscars were a welcome relief. After reviewing all the choices, (and seeing this Vogue photo) we decided Carey Mulligan’s Valentino Couture gown was the most amazing dress at the Oscars. It fit perfectly and it’s not a dress we feel like we’ve seen before. Carey was surrounded by a sea of sexy low cut gowns with high slits and she remains elegant without all that skin displayed. We can only imagine the size of the vehicle she arrived in, with this huge skirt….

BEST DRESSED AT THE EMMYS: DAN LEVY

Designer Thom Browne must be delighted today because multiple Emmy winner Daniel Levy of Schitt’s Creek was the talk of the Emmys, thanks to his kilt suit. Not many men could pull off this look as well as Levy did. He was head to toe – including socks and boots, in Thom Browne, and the suit almost overshadowed his Emmy wins. No female attire at the event came CLOSE to causing as much conversation as Levy’s kilt. The kilt got a lot of airtime because Levy won an astonishing THREE Emmys – Best Supporting Actor, Best Comedy Series Writer, and Best Comedy Series Director for Schitt’s Creek. The show racked up nine awards total and set a new record. The kilt should have gotten one too.

CHARLIZE THERON : BEST DRESSED AT VANITY FAIR PARTY

WOW- we almost missed this amazing outfit! We’ve seen plenty of fringed dresses in our years of fashion observation, but Charlize Theron’s gold fringe Dior is the all-time best! And walking only makes it look better. Charlize, who happens to be the face of Dior, wore another dress on stage at the Oscars, and for some reason saved this metallic beauty for the Vanity Fair after-party.

BEST DRESSED CHARLIZE THERON WON UK AWARD FOR BEST PROSTHETICS

We’re just about overdosing on award show gowns, having seen SO MANY in the past few weeks, but we think Charlize Theron looks sensational in this beautiful shade of purple. She was nominated for Lead Actress for Bombshell at the EE British Academy Film Awards but Rene Zellweger took the award home. However, Bombshell DID win the award for Best Hair & Makeup, and we think that’s because of Charlize’s amazing makeup and facial prosthetics that made her so closely resemble her character Megyn Kelly.

KATE BECKINSALE MADE UP FOR A LOT OF BAD GOLDEN GLOBES FASHION

We all pretty much agree on who was Worst Dressed at the Golden Globes. Why no one told Globe winner Patricia Arquette NOT to leave the house in that gross and desperate looking low cut dress is a mystery. If she HAS a stylist (and we doubt it) -that stylist should be fired immediately. Too bad her memorable stage moment will forever be a visual turn-off. On the OTHER hand, we’re not sure if Kate Beckinsale was at the award show or just the Amazon after-party, but we absolutely LOVE her party outfit. It’s original and fun – and SO photogenic!
