Every once in awhile PETA makes a good point but it’s usually not easy to look at. They set up an anti foie gras protest outside the Houses of Parliament in London. A PETA activist at a dinner table was being “force-fed” her dinner the same way foie gras makers pump grain into the stomachs of terrified geese and ducks to enlarge their livers to produce the expensive delicacy. PAMELA ANDERSON IS STILL PETA’S GO-TO GIRL

PETA is obviously out to clean up their image after nearly destroying the premier of A Dog’s Purpose by charging animal cruelty. They distributed a video of a dog being forced into turbulent water but the movie’s producers insisted it was edited to mislead and not accurate. Pamela Anderson is always PETA’s most cooperative spokesperson and the publicity hungry animal activists arranged to have her donate books and warm clothing to child refugees in London forced to flee their home countries. Of course the hats and gloves were all “vegan.” But what are these kids going to do with books in a foreign language?

PETA’S SHEEP SLAUGHTERHOUSE ON RODEO DRIVE

Shoppers on Rodeo Drive were startled when this inflatable tableau created by PETA suddenly appeared. It’s a plastic bubble containing two real people who are covered in blood and punching fake sheep. The animal activists have decided that the use of wool is cruel to sheep. They claim that wool shearers are rough and the process is horribly painful and unregulated. If that’s true, we hope they achieve some regulation, but this is a horrific scene for Beverly Hills.

PAMELA ANDERSON PLEADS WITH FRANCE TO GIVE UP FOIE GRAS

Without a doubt, Pamela Anderson is absolutely RIGHT in her opposition to torturing geese and ducks to make the French delicacy foie gras. We don’t often agree with PETA but we are grateful that Pam appeared before the National Assembly of France (and created quite a stir!) to plead her case. It’s horrifying, but ducks and geese are force fed (with a tube down their throats!) corn to enlarge their livers and produce foie gras. Pam describes foie gras as “a nonessential product unworthy of a civilized society” and we agree. 20 countries have banned the cruel practice and Pam wants France to do the same. At least she got their attention and many young French people agree with her.

PETA HAS TURNED ON THE KARDASHIANS

Kim Kardashian can’t do anything right lately. She was publicly doused with flour and labeled a “fur hag!” by an animal activist who protests the fact that Kim flaunts fur. Now she says she’s planning to sue the flour tosser (who had nothing to do with PETA) and PETA has stepped up and volunteered to pay for the flour demonstrator’s legal defense. It’s all the stranger because PETA foolishly paid Khloe Kardashian to strip for one of their “Fur? I’d rather go naked” billboards and the event was prominently featured on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” in 2008. Despite that, the Kardashians started peddling fur in their DASH boutiques and ignored PETA requests to stop. Obviously, PETA should give more thought to the spokespeople they choose to hire for their billboards.

MARY-KATE OLSEN IS ACCUSED OF “RAIDING CLOSETS OF THE ELDERLY”

Fashionista and successful designer Mary-Kate Olsen had Brits howling at an outfit she wore this week. True, Mary Kate doesn’t dress like a typical sexed-up female Hollywood celebrity with plunging necklines and skin tight mini skirts. That’s what people in the UK are accustomed to seeing and the look that is unfortunately copied by young girls around the world. Mary-Kate has come a long way from her California girl roots and we secretly love the way the Mary-Kate and Ashley flaunt fur to aggravate PETA. Because the Olsen twins retain their right to wear fur, PETA has started an anti-Olsen campaign and calls them “the Trollsen Twins.” Personally, we prefer this quirky (okay, a tad mature) look to the cookie-cutter look we see everywhere.

IT’S PETA TO THE RESCUE FOR DANCING PAMELA ANDERSON

Pamela Anderson was shaken to the core when she fared SO poorly last week with voters on “Dancing With The Stars.” Although the judges liked her performance (and we did too!) she barely won over awkward Shannen Doherty. Her friends at PETA stepped in and promised to encourage their millions of followers to vote for her. They arranged a massive campaign on the internet and Facebook in particular, promising voters pictures with Pam. This might be the only thing PETA ever did that we approve of!
