MADONNA: BRAVO FOR A CHANGE

madonna_cecconis_01_wenn1004973.jpg
Finally, Madonna has done something we totally support. She is defying PETA by flaunting a fur coat! And a good looking one at that! SO many celebrities nowadays are afraid to wear fur because PETA has bullied them into feeling it’s “politically incorrect.” Madonna, of course has always been active in raising money for AIDS and PETA lost HER support when they announced “Even if animal research resulted in a cure for Aids, we are against it.” ( To this fanatical group, rats are apparently more important than people.) We don’t wear fur, but we defend Madonna‘s right to do so without harrassment. And we love our pets so we give OUR donations to animal charities that actually rescue cats and dogs- not lab rats. Way to go, Madonna!

  1. Your obviously not an animal lover if you support anyone flaunting fur. You should be ashamed.

  2. Stupidest post EVER.
I guess we should have known when your hair turned to pee-pee.

  3. yay! I love real fur! Kudo’s to Madonna. All the stars will be wearing fur again!
The fakes just don’t compare to the real thing. I want a coat just like that.

  4. Let’s shave Janet’s fur head. Oh, but nobody would want to wear an orange straw coat.

  5. Fur coats are ugly. I haven’t seen anyone look decent in one including Madonna.

  6. Janet, when did you relenquish your brain? Shame on you for encouraging the slaughter of animals so that people can wear fur. You might want to catch the next broom to Oz – I hear that the Wizard might have a brain left to give you. Now, go lick your fried chicken greasy fingers. You are incredibly stupid and superficial.

  7. blah blah blah let’s not forget where she came from…mother terasa she is not!

  8. I wonder what is Janet’s motivation for celebrating Madge’s wearing of fur. Payola? Both Madge and fur are old, ugly, cruel, disgusting and obsolete…Shame on you, Janet.

  9. Regardless of how we feel about PETA, fur is obscenely self-indulgent. “Vulgar” is the perfect term for it.

  10. Either you don’t know the suffering these souls endure for fashion, or you do and you don’t care. I don’t know which one is more evil.

  11. How can you know this coat is made of animal’s fur?
There are such items known as faux furs.
About PETA. This organization has a point to be made that is valid and worth considering.
But some of the tactics employed by some PETA members are violent and counter productive.
    Human beings are animals too.
Harassing and assaulting people ( spitting on another person is considered ASSAULT) who wear fur coats is cruel to the wearers.
Do you think spitting on someone or screaming at someone is going to turn that person into someone who is considerate to your cause?
Tossing paint on people wearing fur coats?
The animal is still dead regardless of the paint thrown on the person wearing it’s fur and I’m willing to bet the person who was assaulted has more of an incentive to wear animal hides and fur- to irritate PETA members!

  12. In my opinion, fur is vulgar. So dated, tacky and just not hip or modern. The ultimate in very bad taste, and I don’t agree with PETA about animal research.

  13. BRAVO!!!! I love fur and no one should tell me or anyone else they can’t wear it.

  14. I’m not a fanatic but unless you live up in Siberia, there really is no reason to wear fur. I don’t support PETA but have to say Madonna is vile. Don’t her ugly track suits keep her warm enough?

  15. Unfortunately, PETA is a radical tax-free group whose organizational head has stated that people are not more important than animals.
PETA is even against people owning pets, like cats and dogs.

  16. I can’t stand PETA, in my book they are a bunch of terrorists. To extreme for my view and anyone who promote their idiotic beliefs…where animals are placed on a higher plane then human beings are just as insane as PETA.
I do believe in conservation and respect for animals…taking care of the earth and habitats but the use of rats to solves humun conditions is murder…puleeze.
GET REAL everybody here if it was your life on the line would so and a rat was the only way to find a cure for your life threatening disease would be starting a riot if the doctors says…well we can’t cure you because we place the rat above you.

  17. “PETA is even against people owning pets, like cats and dogs.”
Get a clue and actually visit the group’s web site before you make such stupid claims. PETA has no problem with pets, but the organization does recommend that people get their pets from shelters and ensure that they’re spayed or neutered. I hope you’ve been spayed, whoever you are — we don’t need any more idiots like you out there.

  18. Madonna wearing a chinchilla coat brings applause from Janet. Just sort of speaks to the type of low life that you are Charlton.

  19. Madonna wearing a chinchilla coat brings applause from Janet. Animals raised for one purpose – their fur. Just sort of speaks to the type of low life that you are Charlton.

  20. what a couple of cruel idiots…madonna and janet…pity, pity, pity..

  21. That was a stupid post, Janet.
There is no longer a need to kill animals for their fur. It’s cruel and unnecessary.
And since when does Madonna need someone to defend her? I hate when gossip columnists suck-up to celebs.

  22. Janet,
Honeychild. Fur is so dated and tacky, that you being so fashionable should know it. You have a better fashion sense than that, don’t you?

  23. PETA means people for the ETHICALtreatment of animals.Slaughtering exotic or rare animals for their skin or fur is wrong. It is Evil. Cruel. Synthetics are pretty good now adays. I can not support intentional cruelty.

  24. Your comments are PATHETIC. I wont be returning to your site again, bad move, you will just push people away with your stupid comments

  25. You’re an idiot Charlton, hope you get the the chinchilla treatment one day, political correctness be damned.

  26. i think people see anything to do with fur and decide to flip out. fur is somewhat outdated but do any of you martyrs own leather belts, shoes, purses etc? do you think those animals were asked nicely for there skin before it was ripped off and sewn up? oh but that’s okay right-what else are they going to make louis vuitton purses with?

  27. @Anon 9:32…For me the difference lies in the UNNECESSARY cruelty with which the Fur industry goes about its business. Do I use leather? You bet your sweet ass, and I also eat the rest of the fucking cow. Leather has many uses for which there is no substitute, while fur is not really necessary unless you live in Siberia, Outer Mongolia or are a total asshole. Ironically, the people from Siberia and Mongolia get the fur and use the rest of the animal ALL OF IT for substenance. Mass fur producers just scrap the rest of the animal, I think if you buy the chinchilla coat you should also eat the fucking chinchilla.

  28. Chinchillas, minks and foxes are raised for their fur. There is nothing humane about how they are kept or their killing.
Janet, was the Glen Close character in Fatal Attraction based on you? Did you really do that to a rabbit? Perhaps you and Madge can be best buds now, since you both enjoy the slaughter of animals so much.
    Sweet dreams…

  29. I’m not a vegan, but I’m not a big meat eater either, and I never eat veal. But, I have been known to occasionally go to In-n-Out for a burger, and I don’t get squeamish at the site of a filet mignon. I own three leather items, 2 were gifts. I wear the jacket and gloves.
Whew…with all that said, Madonna, you keep proving over and over that you truly are a Material Girl. Superficial whore who, by the wearing of your coat, endorses the fur industry.
Janet, while a chinchilla is a member of the rodent family, it is not a rat. Have you also over the years, confused a rabbit or a guinea pig or a squirrel with a rat as well? Please brush up on your zoology, Janet. Maybe you won’t appear so ignorant.

  30. Janet I don’t agree with you at all and I think fur is cruel and does not make for an attractive accessory.
However, you are really cool for stating your opinion on this controversial issue so openly. It doesn’t matter that I don’t agree with you. I know what it’s like to have people attack you for having an opinion, and good for you for stating yours with conviction. If someone doesn’t agree with you they should stick to the issue, not say that there’s something wrong with you as a person because you have a different opinion on a controversial topic. That’s a weak ass argument. You are totally welcome to your opinion and I applaud you for stating it so openly.
You have good gossip and I will always visit your site to get the exclusives. You are not any less of a good blogger to me because I don’t agree with you.

  31. Janet your gossip is good but your taste is horrendous, Stop writing commentary and just stick with gossip. No one is taking fashion tips from you. Fur is just vulgar. The whole concept is so inhumane.

  32. Woohoo! You go Janet!! You tell people how cool it is to kill chinchillas by anal electrocution, neck-breaking, and gassing, so that all self-important people can wear the fur. Nothing like supporting a little bit of animal torture, eh straw hair?

  33. Janet – if I seriously thought you had more than two brain cells to rub together I’d have found this article offensive. May you be re-incarnated as a chinchilla (if nothing else, it’d raise your IQ significantly). Merry Christmas.

  34. I think Madonna is wrong.I am an animal lover.I dont believe in wearing fur.She can afford a beauitful fake fur like Olivia Newton-John wore.

  35. Whether or not you are a fan of PETA is not the issue.
The issue is that wearing dead animals as clothing is indefensible.

  36. Fur is so TACKY. Janet you SHOULD know better. It is in such bad taste and has nothing to do with Peta cause I don’t support that group. It is for vain, insecure people, like Madonna and Puff Daddy. No one with any taste would wear it. The most fashionable designers refuse to use it.

  37. To “Anonymous” who posted at 12:15pm on December 9th, please read the following statements on pet ownership by PETA:
“Pet ownership is an abysmal situation brought about by human manipulation.”
    – Ingrid Newkirk, PeTA, Washingtonian, Aug. 1986
“In the end I think it would be lovely if we stopped this whole notion of pets altogether.”
    – Ingrid Newkirk, Newsday, Feb. 21 1988

  38. Fur is for bitter old ladies, so Madonna is at the right age to start wearing it.
