We met Frances Cobain when she was a baby in her mother’s unstable arms at the MTV Music Awards. We justifiably worried about her growing up with a father (Kurt Cobain) who committed suicide and a mother (Courtney Love) of questionable sanity. After years of problems, Frances emancipated herself in December at the age of 17 and displayed a talent for art. This unique teenager has her own “notebook” show at the famous La Luz de Jesus gallery in LA. She used the pseudonym “Fiddle Tim.” It’s not the stuff teens usually sketch in their notebooks. Her drawings are grotesque, full of torment, with a distinct punk edge. They were priced from $250 to $400, and to her credit, every piece sold out immediately.

Oh I wish I had been one of those who were lucky enough to get a piece of her art. One day, those will be worth millions. She could be the new Picasso of the 21st century.
She’s turned out to be such a lovely young lady and not surprisingly given her talented parents, a brilliant artist as well. She’s off to a great start and hopefully she won’t blow it and become a druggie or alcoholic like her fucked up parents, but I don’t think she will. She has so far rebelled against all things Courtney and Kurt. I did the same thing being raised by an alcoholic father and crazy mother, so I get where she’s coming from and wish er all the best. I think she has grandparents who support her and give her all the love she needs. Hope so. Interesting art, I’d like to see more, and hear more about what she’s up to with her life.
“It’s not the stuff teens usually sketch in their notebooks. Her drawings are grotesque, full of torment, with a distinct punk edge.”?
Sounds exactly liked what teens sketch in their notebooks. Does she write poems about suicide also? Quel Genius!!!
If her work is ever worth millions it will be primarily because she was the offspring of two people who were train-wrecks, and were poster-children for a train-wreck of a generation.
Surprisingly, I really like her work and find it fasinating. I would have loved to have had a couple of these drawings.
By the way, isn’t her eyes lovely? She looks so much like her late father.
OMG she’s gorgeous. And I suspect she’s a hell of a lot normal than she has any right to be considering she was raised by Crazy McCrazy.
I just get this feeling that she’ll turn out to be much better than both her miserable parents. BTW, homegirl’s got skills. Love the art work.
Walt Cliff, drop by any local high school during its open house. You can probably pick up something much more interesting.
Sebastian, you have a point there. I do recall being overly dramatic during my teen years and am surprised I lived thru tehem really. Did my own share of scary art and death poetry as well. BUT she DOES have talent, you can’t deny that just because she is young or who she is. Cut her some slack, it isn’t her fault her parents were/are who they are. It’s like being born with lead weights around her ankles.
Reta, true.
I really hope she turns out ok and doesn’t fall victim to her genetics.
she has a great excuse for commiting suicide.
Cap’n: if only you were smart enough to take your own advice!
What a BEAUTIFUL girl! Wow. And her art work looks like it is first class!
Really pretty eyes and I hope a young gal that can learn not to follow her parents crazy lives.
Captain America, sometimes you are very funny!
Wow! Very talented and beautiful young woman!
I’ve always liked The Bean and am glad she’s away from the Crazy so she can get some good footing under her. She probably has no inheritance because Crazy has spent it all (or lost it all, who knows with that woman), so it’s a good thing Bean can paint and I hope she has a wonderful career ahead of her. She’s gonna need it. But it sounds like she’s on the right track.
Captain, u r a nut and your comments are so weird and off sometimes u just crack me up.

Here is the link to see the rest of her art. They are all already sold, but you can look and check them out. Interesting.
