JONAH HILL LOVES A POLITICAL SCANDAL

George Santos put the CON in Congress and now the disgraced newly-elected NY Congressman’s web of lies could be turned into a limited TV series, thanks to Jonah Hill. Practically everything out of his mouth and on his resume has been one giant lie, but Santos was still able to persuade a majority of savvy New Yorkers to elect him as their representative. More and more of his fabrications seem to come out daily and as disgusting as it is, it’s also one of the most interesting political scandals since Donald Trump’s shenanigans. According to a friend, Jonah is fascinated by this sociopath who was elected to office, and he’s eager to set aside his surf board and produce and star in his own series. He hopes to secure the story rights and sell the idea to Netflix. Jonah has a good relationship with the streaming giant since starring in their hit movie, Don’t Look Up.

THE ROCK’S STORY IS NOW A COMEDY SERIES

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has gotten NBC very excited about the new comedy series about his early life called “Young Rock.” The half-Black and half-Samoan actor has had a very successful and unique career as an adult – he went from football player to wildly popular wrestler to famous actor. But this series details his youthful years – from the age of 8 thru his teen years. As a kid, he moved around a lot (New Zealand, Hawaii, North Carolina etc) and he went to three high schools. His father was a famous wrestler and his mother came from Samoan royalty. Johnson credits the setbacks and adventures he had growing up with making him the person he is today. Love this photo of Dwayne as a smug 20 year old football player. Above, lookalike Uli Latukefu plays The Rock as a young guy.

NICOLAS CAGE IS PERFECT CASTING TO PLAY JOE EXOTIC

When you think about it, Nicolas Cage IS almost the perfect choice to play Joe Exotic in an eight episode series for CBS. (Just the perfect touch of crazy – right?) The script is based on a story that appeared in Texas Monthly last year (before Tiger King) about how Joe Schreibvogel amassed his private zoo in Oklahoma and feuded with Carol Baskin and Jeff Lowe. The story will also explain how ordinary Joe made himself over to become Joe Exotic. This is the first time Nicolas has done TV, but we imagine he’s very excited to play this character. Joe Exotic recently said he’d like to see Brad Pitt play himself and we think it would be too painful to watch Brad torment animals, while Nicolas can pull it off more easily…

IT’S WOODY ALLEN’S FIRST TV SERIES AND HE’S TERRIFIED

Say what you will about Woody Allen, he’s a brilliant writer and filmmaker and at the age of 80 is not slowing down. He made a deal with Amazon to create his first series and last year he was fretting that it was a “catastrophic mistake.” But things appear to be coming together – he cast Miley Cyrus as one character and it could be a huge career break for her. Above, Woody and comic actress Elaine May, 83, are filming a scene for the untitled project set in the 1960’s, and it makes one wonder if HIS character will be paired with an age appropriate woman for a change.

BAD IDEA: OPRAH IS COUNTING ON LINDSAY LOHAN SERIES TO BOOST OWN NETWORK

oprah-winfrey-lindsay-lohan-467

People seem to be tired of watching Betty Ford dropout Lindsay Lohan enjoy one opportunity after another, after lousing up her own life and career. Her new docu-series “Lindsay” didn’t set any records for Oprah’s OWN network – the first episode Sunday night pulled in 693,000 viewers. Mediocre at best. One wonders what Lindsay did to deserve being paid two million dollars, given assistants and a stylist, and set up in a fancy New York apartment, while having cameras follow her efforts at resurrecting her career. Is she even grateful? Funny – we’re just not interested enough to tune in.

DON’T BLAME THE BUNNIES: HORRIBLE WRITING KILLED “THE PLAYBOY CLUB”

It’s a shame that The Playboy Club series was such a disappointment and only lasted three episodes. The Chicago based show set in the 60’s, when Rush Street was hot, LOOKED glossy and great, but the writing was pathetic. A story about the bunnies and their lives at that time would have been far more interesting than the trumped up gangster plot that had nothing to do with the club. A smart female writer would have talked to a slew of former bunnies and gotten all their stories together. These girls had interesting lives and a lot to tell. In those days the prettiest girls in Chicago became stewardesses or Playboy bunnies. It could have been a really fun series.

SHE’S READY – “DYNASTY’S” JOAN COLLINS WANTS A COMEBACK ON TV

Joan Collins loves the 80’s revival in fashion – these poofy shoulders are something Dynasty’s Alexis Carrington would have adored. We hear that Joan is eager to be back on TV and she’s hustling to sell a series about two aging actors (her and Robert Wagner to be exact ) who run a hotel in Hollywood and give advice to young actors starting out. With those shoulders she’s bound to talk someone into producing it.

OPRAH HAS AMBITIOUS PLANS FOR THE FINAL SHOW OF HER SERIES

Oprah has some ambitious and rather fascinating plans for her LAST SHOW. She wants to end the same way she started – with the SAME AUDIENCE members and the SAME guests that she had 25 years ago! She has staffers scrutinizing the tapes from that first show to locate as many people from the original audience as possible. The subject of the first show was “Looking for Love” and Oprah hopes to have the same panel of ordinary people with their love stories twenty-five years later. She feels the Oprah show will then have come full circle.
