Just when everyone (except us) was starting to believe that Mariah Carey and her ex-husband Nick Cannon were drifting back together, she took her young ex-boyfriend Bryan Tanaka out to dinner at Nobu. Mariah and Nick have been seen out with their kids a lot lately and observers jumped to conclusions. She enjoys publicity and being linked with TWO guys at once is very appealing to her. As usual, she’s a bit overdressed for the laid back Malibu restaurant, but we love the guy she has carrying her handbag.

MARIAH CAREY AND NICK CANNON DRESSED UP LIKE THEIR KIDS

Mariah Carey’s idea of a mother-daughter dress up outfit is pretty amusing. It looks like she and her little girl Monroe are wearing the same athletic shirt/dress with considerably different results. (We wonder if Monroe will grow up aping her mother’s hyper-sexy style or rebel and wear grunge!) Daddy Nick Cannon and son Moroccan look cute in their father and son orange sport outfits. Nick and Mariah brought their twins to the Kids Choice Awards. Mariah’s hairdresser, featured on her reality show, was arrested for smuggling lots of drugs – makes you wonder….

MARIAH CAREY AND HER STORYLINE BOYFRIEND

Nick Cannon has nothing BAD to say about his ex-wife Mariah Carey – in fact he told Howard Stern “I’ll never stop loving her!” BUT he doesn’t hesitate to poke fun at her reality show. He says the whole thing is scripted and contrived – it has nothing to do with Mariah’s REAL life. Those “private conversations” on the show are too well lit!” He goes on to speculate that Mariah’s new boyfriend Bryan Tanaka is “just a storyline” – implying that Mariah is “saving face” after her fiancée jilted her.

NICK CANNON: COMBAT BOOTS WITH A TURBAN!

It’s a good thing that Nick Cannon is kinda cute because lately he’s been the king of male fashion disasters. Mariah Carey’s ex directed and starred in King of the Dancehall and he showed up dressed like this at a screening at the Pan African Film Festival. He’s wearing an ethnic (rumpled) long gauzy shirt, tinted aviator glasses, and combat boots. Yes, COMBAT BOOTS and a TURBAN! The movie is about a Brooklyn guy who goes to Jamaica to make a drug score and falls in love with the music and dance culture there. Above, he’s posing with his very 80’s looking costar, Kreesha Turner.

NICK CANNON IS DUMBER THAN HE LOOKS: HE’S OPPOSED TO BIRTH CONTROL!

And we always thought Nick Cannon was a reasonably hip and cool guy. Right after he announced that he is expecting his third child with an EX-girlfriend, Nick started mouthing off on his archaic opinions about freedom of choice and birth control. He declared that abortion and birth control are sinister methods of genocide in the black community! Even worse, he is AGAINST Planned Parenthood – the clinics that serve communities with men’s and women’s healthcare, STD testing, and birth control. He‘s opposed to government support of Planned Parenthood! Shame on you Nick! Did you ever consider all the unwanted children who end up in foster homes and prison? Grow up!

He’s registered to start the fall semester in the Communications Department, but with his experience, couldn’t he be a TEACHER? When Nick,35, graduated from high school he immediately started working in show business and put off going to college. Lately he’s been getting philosophical about the importance of education and felt compelled to return to school. He still has TV jobs, but aspires to graduate in four years – if he doesn’t party too much. Nick has already set aside the fancy suits and bought himself a book bag.
