MICHELE OBAMA IN HER VINTAGE NORMAN NORELL

Courageous Michelle Obama has done something no first lady has ever done before – she actually wore a second hand dress to a major event in Washington! She wore a 1950’s cocktail dress designed by American designer Norman Norell to a Christmas in Washington concert. It’s believed to have come from the shop New York Vintage. Vintage designer fashion has been quietly growing in popularity because celebrities want something different and these glamorous fashions are beautifully made and one of a kind. How delightful to have such a hip and imaginative first lady. This will be the talk of the fashion world.

CHEF WOLFGANG PUCK DOES FASHION COMMENTARY TOO

Even chef Wolfgang Puck can’t resist putting in his two cents when it comes to Michelle Obama’s fashion. He told our clever colleague CJ, at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, that his designer wife, Gelila Assefa Puck, has made him very aware of fashion. Puck critiqued the blue one-shoulder gown that Michelle wore to the state dinner for Mexico’s president: “The dress doesn’t fit right- too tight on top (the bodice).” Wolfgang suggested his wife might be a good fashion consultant for the First Lady. (Actually, he’s RIGHT about the dress.)

IS MICHELLE OBAMA COPYING RIHANNA'S LOOK?

We’re thinking the Obamas got a laugh out of THIS one. A British tabloid ran these photos of Michelle Obama and Rihanna and insist that Michelle is stealing Rihanna’s look. Michelle turned up at a recent event with her hair pulled up with the sideswept bangs that Rihanna favors. OK, so there IS a resemblance, but we can’t imagine the first lady imitating a popstar. Michelle already has to put up with all the comments about her arms and the micro-examination of everything she wears- and now THIS. But it IS funny.
