COURTNEY LOVE MIGHT NEVER BE THE SAME

Is the Courtney Love we once knew, gone forever? Back in the fall of 2019, Courtney moved to London where she planned to write a book and work on a new album. Shortly after, the covid pandemic struck and she has been there ever since. Apparently she has adjusted to the British life so well that she has no plans to leave. Courtney turned up at the Cheltenham Festival on opening day with a whole new look. The festival is described as a posh horse racing occasion and attendees are expected to dress appropriately. Ladies are advised to wear “smart country fashions” in tweed or suede, and quality boots – no high heels, a stylish hat, and matching gloves. Yes, that is OUR former grunge girl in a BEIGE gabardine vest and trousers with matching kid gloves. We’re not sure if the guy is a friend or boyfriend. Stay tuned…

IT’S ALWAYS “FASHION WEEK” IN LONDON

JUSTIN BIEBER ALMOST LOOKS GREAT, BUT NOT QUITE

Justin Bieber is in style-conscious London and he’s trying to fit in! Usually we rate Justin as one of the worst-dressed people in Hollywood and it’s especially grating because he has his own fashion company, Drew. Yesterday Justin and his wife Hayley evidently went shopping in London and he bought this cool looking plaid suit. Since he and Hayley were seeing The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House that night, maybe he decided to actually dress up and ditch the usual shorts and hoody. Too bad he loused up the look with that awful hat and shoes, but at least he made an effort.

TODAY WAS “NO PANTS ON THE SUBWAY” DAY IN LONDON

The 9th Annual No Pants Subway Ride in London commenced today and fortunately it was organized. 400 participants rode pantless in groups of around 20 people back and forth on the subway Sunday afternoon. They all agreed to wear non-offensive underwear. Amazing, since the temperature was below zero! The idea originated with a prank in New York in 2002, and spread to other countries, but London seemed to love the idea most of all. That woman in front of the top photo looks like SHE doesn’t see the humor in it.

LINDSAY LOHAN: SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE

130356PCN_Lindsay09(1)cut

It’s only been a matter of DAYS since Lindsay Lohan credited her cleaned-up lifestyle to the fact that she has moved to London. Lindsay says the paparazzi don’t harass her there and the news is less gossipy. (The fact that she might not be as well known in the UK might not have occurred to her.) And she blames the lure of the clubs in New York and Los Angeles for giving her a bad reputation so she plans to stay in London where she has ”grown up.” One thing she hasn’t outgrown is falling down the stairs when she’s leaving an establishment late at night. Above, she was rescued yet again when she stumbled out of a restaurant there.

BEYONCE: NOT ALL WIGS ARE CREATED EQUAL

AG048894_09beycut

Beyonce and Jay-Z just arrived in London from Paris and they couldn’t wait to hit some night spots such as The Arts Club. Beyonce rocked a new wig with Bettie Page bangs, but it just doesn’t work. Too stringy and bushy, and the bangs are way too short. It simply doesn’t look real. Which is a good thing, because if her real hair was cut this way it would take a long time to repair. In spite of the dubious wig, the pair had an affectionate evening.

LONDON FASHION: JUST LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYS

london fashion14

Fashion Week in London rarely disappoints – and this year looks to be particularly inspiring. Remember before chain stores dominated the world and little shops made outrageous one of a kind items back in the 60’s in London? Some of the current designers seem to be yearning for those days because they are presenting some very eccentric ideas. Above left, Nasir Mazhar, whose name is all over his designs, like Calvin Klein underwear, and right, Sister by Sibling had their model take off her high heels mid-catwalk.

CHEERING IN THE RAIN

These American cheerleaders were thrilled when they were invited to march in the New Year’s Day Parade in London. But they soon learned that this event in no way resembled the Tournament of Roses Parade in sunny Pasadena. It was miserably cold and windy and pouring rain and the girls had no choice but to wrap up in plastic ponchos. But they never stopped smiling.

COURTNEY STODDEN: HUSBAND DOUG HAS PLENTY TO WORRY ABOUT

Bad things are happening since Courtney Stodden, 19, became something of a reality star in the UK. She appeared for 3 weeks on their popular Celebrity Big Brother show without her husband Doug, and flirted with some of the young guys. Doug, 53, seemed very fearful that she might decide she doesn’t need him any more. And probably for good reason. Courtney went out to The Whiskey Mist club – again without Doug- and got herself liquored up. She couldn’t walk and had to be helped to a taxi by a young man, and looked rather happy about it.
