VICTORIA BECKHAM IS DOING BIG GIRLS A FAVOR

Victoria Beckham has been struggling through the pandemic- not with her weight, which remains size 2, but with her business. Her VB fashion collection has suffered over 50 million dollars in losses in the past couple of years and she’s determined to fix things. Victoria’s personal motto has always been “starve yourself or die trying” and her clothes cater to skinny women. This season, however she needs more customers so she’s added larger sizes to her new collection. She’s offering sizes 4 to 18, which SOUNDS impressive, but when you convert to US sizes, it means size 0 to 14. Victoria SAYS “being skinny is out of style” but we don’t believe she really thinks that…

Boyfriend Demi Lovato Fashion Jute$ Pronouns Punk

WHY DID DEMI LOVATO GIVE UP HER PRONOUNS?

Judging from this photo, the answer is evident. For a man. Shortly after Demi Lovato announced that we can STOP using those ambiguous “they” and “them” plural pronouns in reference to her, Demi has introduced a new boyfriend- he’s a Canadian punk/rapper named Jute$.   Not only has she changed her pronouns for this guy (in the White Castle t-shirt)  but she is starting to DRESS LIKE HIM! When Demi was dating Wilmer Valderrama or her last boyfriend, Max Ehrich, she dressed like a pretty popstar, but suddenly she’s wearing distressed leather and plaid (and looking rather awkward.) Demi had a bad experience with her ambitious former fiancé Max Ehrich- she felt he was using her to advance his career, and they had a messy split in 2021. By all accounts, Jute$ is a nice guy, but Demi might be going too far to please him.

Everybody makes a mistake once in awhile- but this person is usually King AND Queen on the red carpet! It’s singer/actor Billy Porter, of course, and who can forget his black velvet tuxedo gown designed by Christian Siriano at the 2019 Oscars? ELVIS DIRECTOR BAZ LUHRMANN: TOTALLY CASUAL IN TOKYO

Director Baz Luhrmann knows how to make an entrance. He arrived at the Tokyo airport and pulled down his mask so paparazzi could get a photo of him. Of course, he is in the city to promote his new film Elvis. We are happy to say that Elvis beat Top Gun: Maverick at the boxoffice this week and hopefully it will do the same in Japan. It’s apparent that Luhrmann has a sense of humor, and we imagine it must have been fun on the set while filming Elvis. Love the pink socks with loafers! Elvis would have liked them too…

Fashion Guess J Balvin Men in Skirts

J BALVIN SOMETIMES GETS IT RIGHT

Every once in awhile J Balvin likes to surprise the paparazzi and his fans by turning up at an event wearing a skirt. He was first seen last January in the front row at the Louis Vuitton show wearing an LV puffer skirt. Since then, paparazzi keep an eye out for the Colombian singer, hoping for an eccentric photo-op. He did not disappoint this weekend at the Balenciaga Spring show in New York. His Balenciaga skirt is decidedly masculine with metal loops and hardware. Ironically, he’s behind the J Balvin Amor collection for Guess, and his designs are very mundane and uninspired, in pastel colors. His Air Jordan 2 collection got mixed reviews also.

BEING A KARDASHIAN MEANS GIVING UP COMFORT

Kim Kardashian and her 8 year old daughter North West certainly don’t dress like the rest of the people walking around in Portofino, Italy, but they have bodyguards to protect them from whatever. North is already taking fashion tips from mom – check out the jewelry, bustier (waist cincher?) and looong braids. It can’t be easy for Kim walking on those cobblestone streets in stilettos – eventually she had to take her shoes off and walk barefoot. Cannes Film Festival Fashion Out of Control

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME

Okay, ENOUGH is ENOUGH! Even for me, a lifetime fashion victim, this whole “My dress is bigger than yours” idea has gotten out of hand. It’s actually disgusting. It looks like women at the Cannes Film Festival are trying to out-do the over-dressed women at the Met Gala, and succeeding. When you think about all the labor hours and fabric that goes in to making these flamboyant gowns with long trains that are worn ONCE, it is appalling! And overindulgent.

JANET JACKSON IS NOT ABOUT TO SHOW SKIN

One more highlight from the Billboard awards- Janet Jackson. She’s been doing a VERY covered up look lately (the opposite of Doja Cat) and she found the right designer to dress her. Thom Browne loves to dress women to look like men, and men to look like women – in a totally elegant way. This custom outfit suits Janet because she is wearing her favorite color and she’s covered very nicely from head to toe. In fact, she put a lot of those underdressed girls to shame…
