We used to call them “pretty boys.” Move over, Harry Styles. There’s an AMERICAN challenging your #1 Heart-Throb status and he wears PEARLS too! (Sorry, Sly and Arnold, but Sensitive Guys are definitely in style!) Timothee Chalamet was SO mobbed by adoring fans at the Bones and All premier in Milan that (for safety concerns) the red carpet had to be CLOSED DOWN! When is the last time THAT happened? Fans were disappointed when celebrity arrivals were quickly hustled inside the theater and photographed there. The press and paparazzi were send home and Timothee was not able to do any interviews to promote the movie – but something tells us it will still be a hit…
Whatever your opinion, Johnny Depp’s damaged career DOES seem to be warming up. He performed at the Orpheum Theater in LA with Jeff Beck and after the show he was mobbed by adoring fans wanting autographs. (see right side of photo) He must have been secretly thrilled that he needed TWO hands-on bodyguards to protect him and guide him to his car. Jeff Beck managed to exit on his own…
Back in the 70’s, Shelley Duvall was one of the MOST popular actresses. She was adored for being a truly original personality and a one-of-a-kind, likeable person. She dated Paul Simon for awhile. You might have seen her in The Shining, 3 Women, or Popeye with Robin Williams. Shelley’s big toothy smile was her trademark and that makes this photo particularly sad. Shelley, 72, lives in central Texas (she fled Hollywood in the 90’s after the big earthquake.) She acknowledges having mental problems, but still appreciates being recognized by her fans, and will happily pose for a picture with them -like she did here.
Robert Pattinson probably felt pretty confident that he could slip into the Jimmy Kimmel Live show through a back entrance today unmolested by fans, because he was wearing his skull cap, sunglasses, and face mask. But NOBODY has more obsessive fans than the heartthrob Twilight star. They sniff him out wherever he is. Rob has been living at this intense level of fame since the first (of five) Twilight films was released in 2008. His obsessed fans are not above insulting his girlfriends! But to his credit, he never ignores his hardcore fans and always stops for pics and chats. Even his next role as Bruce Wayne in The Batman is unlikely to boost his popularity the way Twilight did…
Harrison Ford was walking briskly down the street in New York with a couple of friends when a group of people on the sidewalk did a double-take and stopped dead in their tracks. “I KNOW him!” – someone gasped, “Who’s that guy in the black t-shirt? He’s a famous actor!” Overhearing their conversation, Ford turned around and yelled back over his shoulder “It’s Kevin Costner!”
We have to give Kim Kardashian credit for ONE thing- she makes a point of being nice to fans and she’s patient taking selfies with them. Ironically, this fan made it clear that Kylie is the FAVORITE sister, but Kim good-naturedly took time to pose as she left her hotel in New York.
Just by looking at them, you’d never guess these athletic looking tall twins would be impressed with “royalty.” But they were very excited at the prospect of meeting Sarah Ferguson and waited outside the Sirius XM radio studios for her to leave. Sarah was very accommodating and posed for a selfie with the fans.
Even rapper/actor Ludacris (real name Chris Bridges) can turn into a big goofy fan when he sees a major movie star. Ludacris was at the airport waiting for his luggage when he saw Russell Crowe in the crowd. He insisted on taking a selfie together and triumphantly posted it on Instagram!
Avril Lavigne’s Brazilian fans are making fun of her rules for taking photos with her. She’s very popular in Brazil and her loyal fans stood in line after her concert and handed over over $350 each to pose for a photo with her. But she wouldn’t get anywhere NEAR them! She kept a huge distance with a “no touching” rule. The fan above created a website with his photo and invited others to submit theirs. He pointed out that while Britney and Justin Bieber charge more for photos with fans, at least they get close and look friendly. And Lady Gaga gets friendly in photos for NO CHARGE at all!
Gwen Stefani was Just a Girl of fourteen when she managed to get an autograph from her idol Sting after a concert, right before he took off on his motorcycle. That was 30 years ago. She posted this photo and described herself as “chunky” in those days. Of course she went on to perform WITH Sting at the 2003 Super Bowl and called it “The best night ever – dreams come true, times two.”
