Michael B Jordan, 33, blew us away when we saw him in Fruitvale Station, and he just keeps getting better – in more ways than one. He was born in California, but he knows dressing up is as important as dressing down. And he has a tailor to make everything fit to a T. In other words, he’s a Dandy in the making – which is a huge compliment. We love this plaid coat he wore in New York while promoting Black Panther. He gained 15 pounds of muscle to play the movie’s extraordinary villain “that you care about.”

How refreshing to see an actress in an exquisite dress WITHOUT a revealing low cut neckline and no side slit! And Gina did NOT follow the Kardashian lead and pile on the makeup and false eyelashes. She looks naturally beautiful – it’s no wonder the Jane the Virgin actress has four more movies coming out…

BEST AND WORST DRESSED: AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS 2017

BEST DRESSED: Hands down, Selena Gomez was voted Best Dressed at the American Music Awards the minute she set foot on the red carpet. Not only is she dressed appropriately for the occasion – young, rock n roll, sexy, but not TOO sexy, with brand new blonde hair, but she didn’t look like she was trying TOO hard. And everyone was happy to see her looking as beautiful and healthy as ever after her liver transplant.
WORST DRESSED: We like Kelly Clarkson far too much to let her stylist get sway with THIS! Kelly is beloved for her natural, wholesome good looks- and this look at the AMA’s couldn’t be more artificial. (Talk about trying TOO hard!) That heavy makeup (black lipstick?) matronly too-fancy gown, and droopy extensions make her look like a cross between a 1980’s country singer and a Goth opera singer. That’s NOT our sweet Kelly. Did you know she has a ranch in Texas for unwanted (blind, crippled etc) animals? We rest our case.

Having perused photos of many celebrities from a lot of parties, we selected our favorite – partly because you don’t have to ask “Who are you?” Who wouldn’t recognize Sandy from Grease! She sang “You’re the one that I want!” Model turned reality star (“The Real Housewives of Miami”) Joanna Krupa is appropriately attired in spandex for Casamigos’ ‘70s disco party, and she has the right bad girl attitude.

We’ve heard actress Nina Dobrev’s name but never really knew who she was – until we saw this photo. Nina was photographed at the premier of her new movie Flatliners and she looked so cute and refreshing we got interested in her. She’s a Bulgarian born Canadian and probably best known for appearing on The Vampire Diaries. Flatliners is an update of the original film about medical students experimenting with death.

BEST DRESSED AT THE GRAMMYS: RIHANNA

It’s not just the same old glitzy low cut long dress with a slit – Rihanna is refreshing and original in her two piece Armani. The crystal tangerine top shows off her original tattoos and the bountiful silk organza skirt is both dramatic and comfortable. Of all the celebrity designers, Rihanna might be the smartest because she does functional active wear with Puma and that’s exactly where daywear is headed. She didn’t disappoint her fans.

Gigi Hadid, 21, turned up at the highly competitive Fashion Awards 2016 in the UK looking spectacular for the stylish event. She knocked it out of the park. And she did it without anything too low cut, sheer, no cutouts, or high slits. She’s elegant without being hypersexualized. Looks like her mother raised her right! Appropriately, the ambitious model was named Model of the Year at the event. Gigi indicated she aspires to MORE than modeling when she hosted the American Movie Awards last month. Her relaxed and outgoing personality must perplex her boyfriend Zayn Malik, who suffers from crippling stage fright. She might be the best thing for him – or she might leave him in the dust.

CIARA WAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE WOMAN AT THE AMA’S

You don’t even have to be pregnant like she is, to appreciate Ciara’s AMA dress. How great it must be to actually be comfortable AND look good at a red carpet event! It was a cool night and Ciara, 31, was probably the only female not shivering. She’s wearing a velvet turtleneck with a satin hi-lo skirt and the skirt lining is puffy like a duvet. When she sat down she could just wrap herself up! Besides looking good, Ciara is a successful singer, songwriter, dancer, and model. She married footballer Russell Wilson last summer and they’re expecting their first child.

Red carpet events are so often dominated by bombshell babes competing for attention that it’s really refreshing to see a natural and just plain pretty look. Gwyneth Paltrow, 44, turned up at the Elle magazine 30th anniversary party in Madrid dressed like THIS and we are IMPRESSED, indeed. She looks like a modern woman AND a medieval princess. Light makeup, simple sleek hair, and a beautifully detailed dress. She doesn’t look like she’s trying too hard. The “consciously uncoupled” actress may be tormented for her somewhat unrealistic lifestyle advice, but Gwyneth has never looked better. It makes you forget all about that Mortdecai movie with Johnny Depp that was such a huge flop last year…
