Adele isn’t taking any chances of having gossip and fashion commentators scrutinize her physique and make pronouncements about how much baby weight she has or has not lost. To avoid that unpleasantness, she ventured out to see Prince perform in London and left the back way, wearing a huge voluminous billowy rain coat that totally camouflaged her!

A lot of fuss has been made over Adele’s weight in the past year. Karl Lagerfeld famously remarked that the 24 year old singer was “a little too fat- but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.” It was not a kind thing to say, but it was absolutely true. The singer has always been defensive about her size saying “I’ve never wanted to look like a model on the cover of a magazine. I represent the majority of women and I’m proud of that.” (We don’t believe THAT for a minute!) This was followed by rumors of Adele hiring a trainer, taking pilates, and becoming a vegetarian. Magazines tracked every pound lost and gained. It’s hard to have your weight struggles observed by so many. If Adele doesn’t think she’s too heavy she should ponder this: for seven months NO ONE noticed she was pregnant! That fact speaks for itself.

Karl was RUDE (even though he was correct) and he quickly backpedaled. Does Adele really think we believe for a MINUTE that she doesn’t care about her weight? She’s a young woman in show business! Regardless of all this – there IS a happy ending. Karl further apologized by sending Adele an ENORMOUS gift- all the best handbags from his new Chanel collection – hard to get, and worth thousands of dollars each!
We can’t conceal our delight at hearing the list of Billboard’s top money makers in the music industry. First of all, HALF of the big earners are FEMALE, and it’s about time! Taylor Swift – only 22 – was the number ONE money maker – she pulled in 37.5 million dollars through touring, album sales and publishing royalties, and she topped U2 and all the rappers and hip hop performers! Other females in the top 10 are Lady Gaga, Sade, Celine Dion, and Adele. Taylor’s romantic disappointments seem to inspire her hit songs. She’s got beauty, brains, good manners, and plenty of money – maybe that’s why it’s not so easy for Taylor to find love…
