IS MICHAEL JACKSON OVEREXTENDING HIMSELF?

London papers are reporting that Michael Jackson was found dazedly wandering in the lobby of his London hotel in the early hours of last Wednesday morning. He was described as “spaced out” but not drunk, and had to be held up by his security guys and led back to his suite. The next day when he made his big announcement about his 10 London shows, he read those terse and rambling remarks (which included repeating “This is IT!” eleven times) off a TELEPROMPTER! There are already rumblings of ten more concerts to be added and we wonder how he will hold up under the pressure of actually performing.

Sasha Baron Cohen’s fiancee Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic) and baby Olive visited the Hollywood Farmer’s Market on Sunday morning. Apparently she cooks, because she bought apples, strawberries, bok choy, celery, and broccoli. Olive had fun meeting other kids and sampling fruits and she ended up with a balloon.

Tattoo aficionados flocked to see Kat Von D when she appeared at Borders in Philadelphia, at a book signing for her creation “High Voltage Tattoo.” Her LA Ink TV show has made her the pin-up girl for the world of body art. Kat credits her boyfriend Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue with inspiring her to give up drinking.

Her father says Rihanna has changed phone numbers and email addresses and is avoiding family members. Is she too EMBARRASSED to face them? Is Chris influencing her? Sounds bad.

The honeymoon is over for Tim Allen and his wife Jane Hajduk. They wed in 2006 and Jane is expecting their first child (a girl) in the Spring. (Tim has a 19 year old daughter Katherine with his first wife.) Like an old married couple, Tim dropped Jane off at the supermarket and while she shopped he sat in the car and talked on the phone. When his pregnant wife emerged with her groceries, he didn’t help her carry them, he didn’t help her open the trunk and load them in, and he didn’t open the car door for her. He just kept on chatting.

Watchmen

IS WATCHMEN UNWATCHABLE?

“Watchmen” movie opening today is getting an extremely wide range of reviews. It seems people either love it or absolutely loathe it. Chris Tookey in the Daily Mail lambasted the movie, calling it “tasteless and unwatchable – a grotesque squandering of time, talent, and technology.” He also described it as “pretentious and insanely long. It’s hard to stay awake.” As if that wasn’t clear enough, he went on to say “this despicable trash will find an audience among sad sociopaths, deranged pseudo-intellectuals, and brutalized, immature men of all ages. I just hope there aren’t enough of them to make it a hit.” Other reviewers have praised this movie to the skies. If you’ve seen the movie, who do you agree with?

Egotistical music mogul Phil Spector must think the world has forgotten him because there’s been limited interest in his second murder trial. After all, it’s five years since Lana Clarkson was killed. The second jury is currently planning a visit to Phil’s mansion in Alhambra, against his wishes, of course. This week he showed up in court wearing a modified zoot suit and his wife Rachelle is still by his side. We hope they throw the book at him.
