Groucho Marx Jay Leno You Bet Your Life

YOU CAN BET YOUR LIFE JAY LENO IS COMING BACK

Driving around town in his immaculate vintage cars is just not enough for Jay Leno. He’s a little bored. Yes, he has his car series Jay Leno’s Garage, but it’s just not enough. He left The Tonight Show in 2014 and misses telling jokes on TV. SOMEBODY came up with the idea of Jay hosting a revival of Groucho Marx’s You Bet Your Life – a 50’s quiz show – and this could be the answer. Just like Groucho, the main part of the show will be Jay joking around while interviewing the assorted contestants. Jay loves to talk to regular people and draw humor out of them. (His man-in-the-street interviews were always fun.) Contestants appear in female and female pairs and answer questions to win money. Watch for it next fall.

Men in Skirts Paris Fashion Week Skirt

PARIS FASHION WEEK: MORE SKIRTS FOR MEN

It’s men’s Fashion Week in Paris again and we wonder how the usually extravagant shows are being put together, considering the fact that last time we heard, Paris was in lockdown with a curfew. But the show must go on, and at first glance we thought this was a female model – but it’s not. Lots of skirts for men on the runways this year. Many are described as “cargo skirts” to up the masculinity factor. This outfit is by Reese Cooper could go either way and it works with sneakers. Most of his clothes have that distinctive little clip on the chest- but what could it be used for?

CARDI B: CAN FASHION CAUSE A TRAFFIC JAM?

Cardi B is not one of those celebrities that welcome the anonymity of wearing a mask. She LOVES attention, especially when it involves fashion. Imagine the shocked looks on Rodeo Drive this weekend when Cardi went shopping with her husband Offset looking like THIS! Observers couldn’t decide if she was nude – or was it an optical illusion? Actually the futuristic dress involves a lot of layers and not a lot of nudity. Eccentric designer Pierre-Louis Auvray must be delighted by the reaction to his bizarre creation.

BEN AFFLECK: COFFEE FOR ONE

Newly single Ben Affleck seemed to be in a playful mood as he picked up a heap of packages delivered to his house on Saturday. Notice that he did not stop drinking his Dunkin’ Donuts coffee while he retrieved the parcels. Ben either goes OUT for Dunkin’ Donuts coffee or has it delivered every morning. Since he and Ana de Armas split, it has been coffee for one. But insiders say it MIGHT not be over between them for good. They are still friendly and Ana is shopping for a place to live in West Hollywood because she has several movies lined up filming here. Her home base is still Cuba where her family lives.

SIMONE BILES THINKS SHE FOUND THE PERFECT GUY

Simone Biles, 23, is the kind of person that you really WANT to see happy. She has worked SO hard to become America’s most decorated gymnast and five time world champion, that you cannot imagine her taking the time to go to parties or clubs to socialize. Simone has very quietly been seeing her handsome boyfriend Jonathan Owens, 25, for three years, and she’s delighted that he’s also an athlete. He plays football for the Houston Texans, so they have working out in common. But not height – she’s 4’8″ and dating a FOOTBALL PLAYER! Simone blurted out her love for him on the Today show this week, and called him her “man crush, every day.” Oh, and it so happens that Simone has two French Bulldogs and Jonathan has a bulldog of his own – the dogs get along too!

DAVE CHAPPELLE SURPRISED BY QUARANTINE IN TEXAS

What’s going on in Austin, Texas? They seem to have very little fear or respect for Covid 19, because nightlife continues to thrive. Dave Chappelle, who was so successful on Saturday Night Live recently, started a series of shows there but he only got thru the first. Then he was diagnosed with Covid. (Everyone in the front row at the first show must be taking their temperatures right now.) Dave will be in Austin’s version of quarantine for however long it takes to return to the stage.

UNDERCOVER MODEL ON THE SUBWAY

You never know who’s going to sit next to you on the subway to Brooklyn. In this case, it’s a successful model in a colorful outfit slumped next to the exit. (We like that she’s obediently wearing her mask.) Lourdes Leon’s new ad campaign for Stella McCartney x Adidas just came out and she looks much different in the ad photos with all those braids. Her mother Madonna is only 5’2” (she claims 5’4,” but we’ve seen her close up) but lucky Lourdes got a little height from her 6’2” father Carlos, and she’s 5’7”.

They couldn’t even attend their annual holiday party because he was so scratched up from her rage. His kids from a previous marriage all know what’s happening, but they stay out of it because she has SO much dirt on THEM that she could reveal! SHE’S THE BOSS now.

CALISTA FLOCKHART HAS NO FEAR OF FLYING WITH HARRISON FORD

Pilot Harrison Ford has had more than his share of flight problems – close calls, near-misses, and crash landings, but his wife Calista Flockhart still has total faith in his flying. Ford, 78, often flies himself and his wife, plus their dogs, back and forth to their Wyoming home. He flew her relatives in for the holidays, and flew Calista’s son Liam to college in Massachusetts. He’s also gearing up to start filming Indiana Jones 5, reprising his role as the daredevil archeologist, and will certainly fly himself to and from the set. Disney optimistically set a July 2022 release date for the film.

HELENA BONHAM CARTER’S ECCENTRICITY IS HER CHARM

We met Helena Bonham Carter (she’s currently starring as Princess Margaret in The Crown) years ago on the red carpet at the Oscars – it appeared to be her first time there and she was alone and confused -asking which way she should be walking. She was also a bit insecure about her Vivienne Westwood outfit which was QUITE unique and adorable. We liked her immediately. Since then, this eccentric actress has become a National Treasure in the UK. She and Tim Burton ended their long romance in 2014 and she has found a new love. He’s Rye Dag Holmboe, 33, a Norwegian art critic and writer and he’s 21 years younger than Helena. They may not SEEM to be the ideal couple on paper, but they’ve been spending many happy hours in museums together for the past two years…
