THE DISASTER ARTIST: TRUTH IS FUNNIER THAN FICTION

Usually we recommend to filmgoers that they avoid reading too much about a movie before seeing it because it spoils the element of surprise. But “The Disaster Artist” is the exact opposite – read all you can about it ahead of time and it will be even FUNNIER. James Franco directed and stars and he does a bang-up job for a change. It’s about a very peculiar and eccentric aspiring filmmaker who happens to have enough money to make his own feature film and proceeds to do so without any experience. The resulting film is called “The Room” and has been described as one of the worst movies ever made and a cult classic. Knowing this twisted story is true makes it extremely entertaining.

It seems like Corey Feldman, 44, has been talking about the unnamed pedophiles he encountered as a child actor for YEARS. Recently he announced that he’s trying to raise ten million dollars to make a movie about his childhood as an actor and victim and promises to name those names. How crazy is THAT? Hasn’t he noticed that people are naming names all over the place these days and they’re not asking for ten million dollars? He should have named names and led the pack instead being coy and holding out. Now it’s too late – Corey Haim’s mother thinks he’s pulling a fast one because he needs the money, and we agree…

Kesha Nudie the Rodeo Tailor Worst Dressed

KESHA: WORST DRESSED YET AGAIN

It’s nice that Kesha is obviously a fan of Patsy Cline and she’s knocking off Patsy’s gorgeous gabardine cowgirl suits designed by Nudie the legendary rodeo tailor. However, Kesha’s updated versions leave a LOT to be desired. Kesha admits SHE designed this ill-fitting shiny pink suit with the tattoo-like patches. The black bra poking out doesn’t help one bit. And we’re not even going to mention those hair extensions. Fortunately, Kesha’s music skills far exceed her design ability and her career is flourishing.

The Hollywood Reporter is doing a brilliant job of tracking all the recent crimes against women in Hollywood and this week they took a look at the corrupt Hollywood lawyers. The late Garry Shandling’s ex-girlfriend Linda Doucette revealed her horrific experiences with powerful lawyers when she and Garry split. After living together for seven years, Linda says she left Garry because she wanted a baby and he did not. At the time she had a role on his series and she told Garry she didn’t want anything financial from him – she just wanted to keep her role on the show. He agreed. What Gary’s powerful lawyers put her through was a NIGHTMARE (Robert Shapiro even tried to kiss her!) after she was promptly FIRED from the show. THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI IS A MIND-BLOWING EXPERIENCE

Maybe once a year (if you’re lucky) you’ll be totally flabbergasted by a movie’s originality. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is the delicious surprise moviegoers have been hoping for. You never know what these magnificently defined characters will do next, and the story takes you in directions you never would have imagined. Unpredictable – and every off-hand line of dialog is meaningful. And it’s FUNNY! Frances McDormand will certainly be an Oscar contender as well as Sam Rockwell, in the role of his lifetime. Run, don’t walk – to see this movie before everybody starts talking about it.

IS LOUIS CK STILL WONDERING WHAT HE DID WRONG?

Now that Louis CK has established himself as a sick and twisted self-centered creep, we have one less comedian to enjoy. His performing career is over- no one wants to be associated with him. Surely, he saw this coming a few months ago, but what could he do? You can’t prepare your children for this type of humiliation. We guess there a few guys in the comedy business who will hire him as a writer – maybe with a fake name. Hopefully there will be more powerful women in the comedy business by then, who will make sure he doesn’t make any kind of comeback.

Daddy's Home 2 Mark Wahlberg Movies Will Ferrell

DADDY’S HOME 2 – ONCE WAS ENOUGH

Sorry to say Daddy’s Home 2 is nowhere as entertaining as the first one – and the first one was merely tolerable. The idea of dad vs stepdad was interesting the first time around, despite the lack of subtlety and overacting by Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. The second movie is like the first, but on STEROIDS. Bigger budget, worse script, cornier acting, and more special effects. Will Ferrell falls down a lot, but never gets hurt. Mel Gibson’s stereotypical character was a poorly written obnoxious bully – not a good comeback. Mark Wahlberg looked appropriately embarrassed much of the time – so did the audience…

Actually it was the egomaniacal actor who exposed HIMSELF. Today Portia de Rossi tweeted about an incident that happened when she was a young actress and auditioned for a Steven Seagal movie. She recalled that he told her it was important for him to have “chemistry” with his leading ladies and he proceeded to “unzip his leather pants” and expose himself to her! Oops! No chemistry! She got out of there fast, and was disappointed when she told her agent what happened and he was “unfazed.”

Through the years Charlie either threatened or paid off (millions!) to numerous males and females, but miraculously retained his popularity and success! In 2011, he contracted HIV from a transsexual lover and kept it a secret, resulting in more payoffs to sex partners afraid that he infected them! It’s difficult to decide who is more despicable – Charlie Sheen or Harvey Weinstein – but both are FINALLY getting what they deserve.
