TOM AND KATIE GIVE SURI THE FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

We have to give Tom and Katie Cruise credit where credit is due. They don’t take the easy way out by strapping Suri into a stroller when they go out. He and Katie allow Suri to run and play and explore. We happen to think strollers are contributing to childhood obesity. (Not to mention the fact that we’re tired of tripping over them in crowded places.) Instead of allowing their toddlers to walk, parents push them around in these mini-wheelchairs while they drink and eat sugary stuff to keep them quiet. Kate Hudson’s son Ryder (top photo) is almost four and STILL being pushed around like he’s handicapped. Tom and Katie’s baby Suri is barely one and a half and she runs joyfully free, holding onto her parents hands.

  1. I agree kids should be able to frisk and frolic besides they’ve all got bodyguards …

  2. when u don’t have minders surrounding u … u tend 2 b more protective of human babies. strollers and carrying ur precious cargo makes more sense than allowing kiddies 2 run around like banshees

  3. Strollers create childhood obesity!?! WTF!!??? So how do you explain that fat-asses PUSHING them??? This makes NO sense.
    Where is the gossip, please?

  4. Looks like Katie’s, oops, sorry……Kate’s, wife Tommy got her some new breasts.
A side note: the child is cute, although I doubt we’ll ever know the identity of her real parents.

  5. Do you have children??? How absurd to bash strollers because you’re tired of tripping over them! They keep children ‘contained’ in a safe, realistic way. I don’t want my 3 year old getting snatched at the mall or running out in the street. If I had NUMBEROUS bodyguards around, my children could certainly “explore” as they wish. PLEASE!! You are so off the mark with this one. Plus, how do you know kids are drinking sugary drinks or what they do the rest of the day?!?! My child’s snacks are water and fruits as she sits in her stroller, and she plays outside more the 2 hourse every day. Having your child in a stroller makes shopping easier for people like you- the children aren’t running all around you, getting into your things. I’m severely dissapointed with this post.

  6. Agreed. Katie knows how to raise a child.
We as parents far too easily resort to strollers for confinement in public and tv & videos to restrain at home.
I’m comforted to know they usually grow up well in spite of the parents rather than because of the parents.

  7. IN EUROPE THEY USE LEATHER REINS OR LEASH TYPE THINGS TO KEEP EM ATTACHED YET ABLE TO EXPLORE AND SAFE AT ARMS LENGTH.
KATE’S KID LOOKS RETARDED FROM THE HAIR TO THE SIPPY CUPS DOPEY FACE AND STROLLER.

  8. Well Jan, that’s a sweeping generalization as well as overly presumptive of you! Suri Cruise is protected by a security team, while it looks like Kate & Dax are on their own with Ryder. I would keep my celebrity spawn in a stroller in public if I didn’t have a police force around me too!

  9. It depends how far you are going. If you are going to the zoo, yes, you will need a stroller. If you are going to the corner store, then no. People with children know that a small child can only walk for so long.
Would you rather trip over the stroller or the child? Maybe you should just watch where you are walking.

  10. Janet cannot beat the other sites to the GOOD gossip, so she has to resort to these ridiculous “fluff” pieces.

  11. Can you imagine Katie maneuvering a stroller as she’s running in and out of boutiques and limos?

  12. Well I think Jan has a point and I have little kids. All to often I see what she’s describing. It’s the mall scene that upsets me the most because the strollers are HUGE and packed with a kid, food, packages. I’ll be looking at something and a testy mom annoyingly will ask me to move so that she can horn in, park her crying kid by ME while she drifts around looking at stuff. Arrrrgh. In the mean time I get a baby sitter or have my husband watch the kids so I can do my business quietly. Oh well, it’s all an opinion.

  13. I assumed Suri was always in their arms/beside them because it makes for a much better photo-op.

  14. I once thought it was strange to see children ( not toddlers or babies) being pushed in strollers but I finally realized that if you are a parent or caregiver of a young child and you enjoy long walks, you might have to use a stroller at some point because kids get tired out.
I’m a walker, love walking and window shopping kids cant keep up with adults.

  15. Hey, take a look: Suri Cruise most definitely has Tom Cruise’s nose, without a shadow of a doubt.

  16. “You can’t judge a book by its cover”… you can’t compare Kate Husdon’s child care to the Cruises’ by just looking at those snapshots…

  17. I’ld smile too if my Dad was as filthy rich loaded as that kids.

  18. A four year old is too damn big for a stroller, that’s like a four year old with a pacifier. They’re big enough to walk at that age if they get tired there’s always some place to sit and rest!

  19. As a mom to a 3 year old, I try to be conscious of others while I shop. I’m sure others would not want to hear me getting on to my son while he runs through the clothes & yells. Also, it’s either the stroller or me carrying a 33 lb. kid. That’s like trying to carry an air conditioner!! I also am very paranoid of someone taking my beautiful son. I’d rather him be safe in his confined stroller than with a pedophile.
If her child weighed a lot more than he should, then judge, but he’s a skinny kid.

  20. I AGREE WITH YOU JANET…ALL THE LAZY MOTHERS WROTE IN DEFENDING THEIR LAZY WAYS BUT YOU ARE RIGHT ON WITH YOUR COMMENTS…

  21. Hold your child’s hand and rest if they’re tired. Four years old is too old for a stroller, it’s weird unless one of you is an invalid.

  22. Suri probably won’t sit in a stroller, that’s why. She seems like a strong-willed, feisty girl.
Right-on re. the obesity in kids issue. Doctors recommend toddlers walk more. Ditch the stroller!
My daughter’s exactly Suri’s age & I never use a stroller. She either walks or I carry her. It’s actually liberating.

  23. please, they don’t use strollers because it makes a better photo op. If you see how much goes into these “walk abouts”. Their bodyguards hold back pedistrian traffic, that’s why there is never anyone else in the shots.

  24. Oh, my God. It’s turning into the “who’s the better mother” argument. Strollers vs. walkers. It’s like stay-at-home moms vs. working moms.
Isn’t this supposed to be a gossip site?

  25. there is a child psychologist named
Dr. John Rosemond who is always stating that children about 2-2 1/2 years old SHOULD BE WALKING, NOT IN A STROLLER.
today’s parents are a far cry from the parents of yesteryear.
they cater to their kids like they are gold and allow them to be fat, lazy, demanding and bratty. Every hear how kids talk to their parents in public. It’s just awful~

  26. lame to put an old kid like that in a stroller – is she still breast-feeding him too?
    And cut his hair, okay!
Janet, you are right on the money.
All the lazy-!@# moms can get off the Internet and go back to the mall!

  27. I have children and used strollers but never felt that people should “make way” for me. It’s better to walk your kids and tire them out so they take their naps (no cranky over tired kids, please)

  28. It’s always a pleasur to see NAIVE Katie without that Fucking Faggot little tommy. I really hope she “WAKES UP” in time!!

  29. I agree, get your fat kids out of the strollers, i see 8 year old in them. and it is called discipline people. morons. g

  30. I am English and used reins for my children. They give the children the freedom to walk and explore but the parent still has the control. No running into the road in front of passing cars, or being snatched by weirdos. Do any of you remember the case of little Jamie Bulger in England in, I think 1993?
When I moved to Canada I had some stupid old woman tell me that I should ‘get those reins off my child, it is like having a dog on a lead.’
I won’t repeat what I said back to her but you can be sure she was told to mind her own business..!!

  31. Whilst we are on this subject, do you not think it is weird that Brad and Angelina never seem to let their kids walk anywhere. They are always carrying them.

  32. That’s because every time Brad and Angelina go out in public they are surrounded by dozens of paps flashing bulbs in their faces. Would you allow your child to walk through a mob scene? Brad Pitt even said in a recent interview that his kids think that, when everyone leaves the house, they are surrounded by photographers.

  33. Don’t judge unless you’ve been shopping with a toddler in a busy store!!

  34. I don’t understand why so many mothers have to go mall shopping all the time with their kids asleep in strollers. The kids need their naps and it should be at home in their beds. They’re much less cranky that way. And if staying home while your child naps is too boring for the mothers, what does that say about them?

  35. No way that child was born in April….Look at Shiloh Pitt..she is a 16 month old baby…Suri is a TODDLER!! I can’t believe anyone could say those two children are one or two months apart..no way…

  37. Kate Hudson’s kid even though he is in a stroller is thin and is a normal size for his age. Unlke Suri who likes way too big for her age, also Suri has ugly huge fat legs just like her mother. Kate Hudson’ son is way cuter and is normal looking for his size, unlile Suri who is a very ugly child and looks too huge for the age Katie and Tom claim her to be. Katie is ugly mom with an ugly child. Kate Hudson is cute mom with cute child.

  38. “I don’t understand why so many mothers have to go mall shopping all the time with their kids asleep in strollers.”
Parents have errands to run and have to take their children with them.

  39. You know what? Just becuase a mother uses a pram doesn’t make her bad or lazy!
I agree with the commenters that said that Suri walks alot when she’s with TomKat becuase they have a security team around them. Never forget also that alot of photo’s of TomKat with Suri are probably set up. I believe that they tip the pap’s off alot of the time.

  40. remember how fake katie holmes’ baby bump was, I think they bought suri from someone.
suri is so super cute though. I would have bought her too.

  41. I’ve always thought that kid Ryder looks retarded with the long hair and goofy clothes. I guess Kate thinks he’s cute and thinks it’s cool to let him act like a baby.
Suri Cruise, on the other hand, is adorable (even if she IS 50% Tom). I’d love to squeeze that little girl. It looks like Katie is an excellent mother. Time will tell.

  43. Janet, get a life. When did you have time during posting all your RECYCLED items to go to medical school. If you aren’t happy with strollers, stay at home and buy your gaudy, tacky stuff off ebay. Your hair probably scares the poor kids to no end. You should wear a burka.
