The New York Post agrees with us that Johnny Depp has lost his allure. Writer Kyle Smith speculated that Johnny Depp has become Hollywood’s biggest joke. Sad, but true. Even his die-hard fans were repelled by his latest unfunny comedy Mortdecai – it’s a boxoffice bomb. Johnny has habitually chosen roles that play DOWN his good looks and make himself look more like an eccentric crackpot than a handsome actor. He’s 51 now and it’s time he became a leading MAN and a relatable human being. Maybe he needs a new manager to read scripts for him. We agree – the most radical thing Johnny could do now is play a normal person.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard look happier than we’ve ever seen them in this photo at the UK premier of his new movie Mortdecai. We have a feeling it has nothing to do with the movie. Any ads we’ve seen for “Mortdecai” remind us of how awful “Annie” looked and turned out to be. The Mortdecai trailer indicates that it’s just as slapstick and poorly written and overacted as Annie. Johnny Depp seems to be destroying his own career and it appears this movie isn’t likely to change that trajectory.

The pair showed up at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala on Saturday night – it’s a celebration of artists and a charity for kids. In this photo they look like the quintessential Hollywood glamour couple.

Johnny Depp’s ex – and the mother of his children, singer Vanessa Paradis, seems perfectly happy with her new boyfriend, French pop singer Benjamin Biolay. The only drawback is the fact that Vanessa and her two children now live in Los Angeles and Benjamin doesn’t, but she spends a lot of time in France. We wonder what Vanessa thinks about Johnny’s recently uncovered drinking problem. She and Benjamin were photographed at a soccer game in Nice with her sister Alysson.

We NEVER would have recognized Vanessa Paradis walking around New York with her new haircut. It must be painful to see all those headlines about Johnny Depp’s engagement to 27 year old Amber Heard – she IS 22 years younger than Johnny. And of course, there’s the speculation that she might be pregnant and the fact that he wants several more kids. Vanessa says she’s occasionally nostalgic, but prefers to live happily in the present.

Johnny has his stylist not only visit designer showrooms, but rummage through second hand stores and thrift shops for boots and shoes and pants and leather jackets that are already scuffed and broken in. Amber is promoting her movie 3 Days to Kill with Kevin Costner, and that’s ALL she wanted to talk about. The only personal information she divulged was the fact that she owns a 1968 Mustang. Kelly and Michael looked uncomfortable, obviously they were warned and didn’t DARE bring up the news that she is engaged to Johnny Depp, which is the thing she is MOST famous for. Amber has said she can’t think of anything WORSE than losing her privacy like Brad and Angelina – and then she got engaged to, of all people, JOHNNY DEPP! Lotsa luck…

He’s resumed touring, mostly in the UK, and today he bears quite a resemblance to Johnny.

Many delusions were shattered last week when the news broke that Johnny Depp, 50, just got engaged to Amber Heard, 27. Johnny has long been on a unique pedestal – many women believed he was special and sensitive – not the typical Hollywood actor. This was reinforced by the fact the he lived happily in the French countryside with French actress/singer Vanessa Paradis, 41, and their two children for years. Their split was disappointing, but it soon became apparent that Johnny had new ideas. Or maybe not so new. He isn’t the man many fans thought he was- Johnny’s just another aging actor smitten with a sexy young blonde starlet, and he couldn’t care less about the 23 year age difference or cultural gap.
