DAVID BECKHAM AND THE BOYS STOCKED UP ON BRITISH TREATS

David and Victoria Beckham must be getting nostalgic for things British because David and the boys went shopping at Ye Olde Kings Head Shoppe in Santa Monica, where they sell all kinds of edibles from the UK. The Beckhams stocked up on specialties like mushy peas, baked beans, meat pies, teas, biscuits, several bottles of Robinson’s Orange Squash, and loads of candies. The boys insisted on jelly babies and an assortment of Cadbury chocolates. They left with seven bags full of English favorites. Introducing the latest advancement in portable foods: the world’s first cheeseburger in a can. This is the kind of sustenance that outdoorsmen like James Franco’s character in “127 Hours” might have carried. The can is thrown into water over a fire to heat it up. Of course, there are plenty of women who want what Madonna had so his social life is booming. Perhaps best of all, Jesus has learned to enjoy food again – Madonna ran a strict macrobiotic household – and Jesus almost forgot how delicious food can be.

TORI SPELLING AND JEFF LEWIS ARE THE NEW “WILL & GRACE”

Last Spring ABC revealed that they were putting together a talk show for Tori Spelling and they were searching for the perfect gay guy to be her sidekick. They were hoping for a “Will & Grace” vibe. It turned out Tori had a lot of chemistry with “Flipping Out” star Jeff Lewis so he’s the lucky wisecracking co-host. The still untitled show was filming at The Grove Monday where the new Will & Grace studied menus, sampled edibles, and talked to people about eating, so the show must have something to do with food.

STAR JONES IS NOT ABOUT TO GIVE UP FRENCH FRIES

Our New York spy was having lunch at Fred’s at Barneys New York and happened to notice Star Jones at a nearby table. Star was bound into a Herve Leger style “bandage” dress – stretchy strips of fabric sewn together – and painfully tight. Our spy said “I felt sorry for that dress – it was STRAINING and STRETCHING as Star tucked into a big meal and an order of french fries to boot.” And Star wasn’t kidding when she said she liked to be seen with people bigger than she is- her companion was a considerably larger woman.
