What happened to Chanel? And what happened to Brad Pitt? This Chanel #5 ad (top) has to be the worst thing brad has ever done! He looks washed out, rumpled and defeated. Facial fuzz and stringy hair add to the lack of physical appeal. There’s nothing flattering or enticing or sexy about the ad. Compare it to the one that Charlize Theron did (with no expense spared) for Dior. Which scent would YOU buy?

No one makes fun of himself better than Charlie Sheen. He’s been doing some amusing commercials lately and our favorite is from a Dutch beer company. It starts out with Charlie leaving rehab and as he drives home he thinks he’s hallucinating when everyone he sees seems to be drinking beer. There’s a twist at the end and if Charlie’s new TV series “Anger Management” is half as funny, we’re in for a treat.

Charlie Sheen has NOT fallen back into his old hard-partying ways. Yet. At the height of his indulgence, Charlie thought nothing of hitting he streets in his pajamas. But today he wore a bathrobe in LA because he’s filming a Direct TV commercial in which he ends up in a jacuzzi. (And we’ll bet he’s not alone.) Nice work if you can get it. In spite of his occasional manic episodes, Charlie continues to get work, and he’s currently casting his new Anger Management series. Last year we thought his career might be over- but you never know…

JENNIFER LOPEZ NEVER DROVE A FIAT IN THE BRONX

Jennifer Lopez is always being accused of being “fake” and tries desperately to disprove those comments. But her new Fiat commercial does nothing to make her seem more real. The ad plays constantly, and shows J.Lo driving a Fiat in The Bronx and talking about how inspired she was growing up there and claiming she hasn’t changed much and is still that girl from “the block.” Ironically Jennifer was too busy to film in The Bronx, so they had to shoot her portion of the commercial in Los Angeles. Another reason to doubt her sincerity.

Talk about selling out! Even the Rolling Stones couldn’t resist getting paid to do a TV commercial for Kellogg’s Rice Krispies back in 1964. Brian Jones wrote the jingle and it’s so funny to hear those familiar voices singing about cereal.They were heavily influenced by Chuck Berry in those days. The ad ran in the UK but never made it to America.

We love discovering the early work of people who are famous today. Long before she became the world’s most famous homemaker, Martha Stewart was a teen model. She appeared in this Lifebuoy soap commercial sometime in the fifties and is oddly paired with a mature man.
