SIMON MONJACK EMPTIED BRITTANY’S BANK ACCOUNTS BEFORE HE DIED

We weren’t surprised to learn that Simon Monjack was spending his late wife Brittany Murphy’s money as fast as could until he died in May. Brittany’s former financial advisor says that Simon drained Brittany’s pension fund and bank accounts of hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time. 80% of her hard-earned money is now gone, leaving her mother Sharon (above, right) with a financially insecure future. After Simon was found dead in the same mysterious circumstances as Brittany, his mother stepped in and now the two mothers in law are at odds over the remaining money. Both mothers are watching with interest the investigation into whether mold might have contributed to the deaths of Brittany and Simon.

  1. How convenient to blame a dead man who can’t defend himself. I, by no means, think he’s an angel, but I do believe that they had genuine feelings for each other.

I really have issues with Brit’s mom. There’s something so off about that woman. And two young people died of similar circumstances under the same roof is just plain scary. I call BS on this story and bet the mom and the financial advisor planted this rumor to get rid of Simon’s mom. Sounds insane, but the whole situation is insane. Like a creepy Twilight Zone episode.

  2. Mold?!

I don’t exactly understand why Brittany’s middle-aged mom should be dependent on inherited money.

Part of me thinks what difference does it make that he drained her pensions and savings…it’s not like she could take it with her!? Besides, I’m sure she spent plenty of her own money exactly the way he spent it: on drugs.

It’s a sad story, but I don’t blame him for her mess. I hope she has found peace now.

  3. +1 CoCo

Exactly. Why should her mother’s future be dependent on her money. And whether ol’ boy was a saint or not, why shouldn’t he spend her money? He WAS her husband…

  4. This is one sad story. The only person to be pitied is Brittany, particularly if she was aware of the motives of those who were supposed to be her nearest and dearest.

  5. This has always been a strange situation to me. Brittany seem nice and sweet. He looked like slob and a very unsure of himself man.

  6. a) why doesn’t her mother have a job
    b) or a pension

    this whole story reeks

  7. Technically speaking, Brittany was a child actor. That says it all.

  8. I agree the mother(s) should NOT be reliant on either of their money. What THEY had was THEIRS to use up or suck up however they wanted to while they were alive and if they died with nothing then, oh well. There is the house at least and I guess the mothers are going to have a fight over it now. I don’t know WHO would want it tho after two people died in the master bedroom. I certainly wouldn’t want to sleep in there. I don’t think they’ll get near the money for it that they could have now with the two deaths there under questionable circumstances.

  9. Reta, that house may become a landmark of sorts. After all, Brittany’s story is like something out of the early days of Hollywood.

  10. I’ve always heard that Brittany’s mom was a good person who adored her daughter and even looked out for and waited hand and foot on her son-n-law. Mother and daughter were very close and Brittany and her mother were inseparable. It was my understanding that the house (as well as other accounts) was in Brittany and her mom’s name even after she married.

Like most people, I didn’t find the Simon fellow to be trustworthy. I feel the same way toward his mother. She seems terribly greedy.

  11. Can we all just agree that this is one the strangest Hollywood deaths? How do two people in the same home die of anemia? Bizarre. I think someone poisoned them

  12. The person EVERONE was suspicious of was Simon Monjack. He seemed evil and untrustworthy and nobody had a good word to say about him, living OR dead. That he cleaned out her money is no surprise. What he spent it on would be interesting and I wonder if there is any investigation under way in that regard. If not, there certainly SHOULD be. It might turn up others that were/are in with him in some kind of scam because he sure did have a shady sleazy slimy feel to him. I would have been beyond creeped out if my lovely young daughter brought THAT GUY home to me and would have left no stone unturned to prove to her who he really was before she went and married his ass, OR uncover him before the marraige went too long so they could get it annulled. I think she’d still be alive if not for tangling with his creepiness. She went downhill fast once HE came into her life.

  13. I’ve only read negative things about Simon Monjack. He was a slimy bastard who tricked people out of their money. He didn’t have a job and seemed to latch onto Brittney. Maybe he didn’t get at her money till she died, and I wonder what he spent it all on, if it really is gone.

  14. Supposedly, her will left everything to her mother. So, tell me how he drained her accounts by 80% and left her mother with an insecure future? My understanding was at the time of Brittany’s death, her hubby was not in her will or anything. And, his mother should be ashamed of herself.

  15. If this death(s) are not thoroughly investigated, I will have to assume that Brittney Murphy is not as important as Anna Nicole Smith or Michael Jackson (which of course she isn’t), but isn’t her death worth some answers? I for one would like to know why two young healthy people are dead.

  16. Simon’s mother states she spoke to him almonst everyday and she is some psychic healer in Britain. How is is that she didn’t see the signs of his ill health? He was a grown man and did what grown people do make their own decisions on their health. Young people thing they are invincible and do not think of death and health symptoms as serious. I do wonder about Brittany’s managers who are now manipulationg her mother and the PR spin in the press. Simon was not a nice person in life to other pre Brittany and karma has a way of taking care of the evil ones and sometimes it extends to their families. Brittany’s monther has been around the business to know that an accountant and a lawyer should be investigating her finances and set it straint for her future; and regardless Simon’s children shoud be taken into consideration.

  17. This raises important questions about trust and financial security in a relationship. In this regard, I had a great experience with florence bank customer service. They put the needs of their customers first and are always willing to help with financial inquiries. If you are looking for a reliable bank with excellent support, I highly recommend checking them out.
