Why on earth didn’t Mercury’s parents have his oversized teeth filed down some? Poor little guy. He certainly had an amazing voice. It was easy to pick out Mercury and Bowie.
The little Zappa boy reminded me of those Shoney Big Boy Burger signs with the little guy with the big hair holding a burger.

Mercury and Bowie were the only ones I guessed too. Who is Shane MacGowen?
My sweet wife thought that Mercury might be related to the host of the show below (he appears around the :46 second mark).
Don’t give me a hard time. I am just teasing. 🙂

Shane MacGowan is from the Pogues.

Mercury grew up in India (?) so I’m not sure what their dental practices are. Maybe his parents could not afford it. He did something about it though. He didn’t become Freddie Mercury looking that bad.
Jesus, Walt!! You talk about Mercury’s teeth and then link me to that? I almost threw up! Thanks for not warning me!
Freddie was something. Anytime I need inspiration I listen to Queen and Freddie Mercury. Simply adore Freddie.
@Dragonfly,
Sorry buddy. LOL!!!! 🙂 Sir Cecil Creape (Creep) was a popular host (for Creature Feature) in Tennessee during the early 70’s.
Hope no ladies get any romantic notions about him. He has long since passed away.
Wow, goes to show what good drugs & good genes the majority of these guys did/had done, in the 60’s.
Nice teef.
I thought it was JAMES HETFIELD in the 4th photo…
@Bluejay
LOL!!!
@Walt, it wasn’t Cecil Creape that frightened me, it was the link to the MacGowan guy. That was hideous.
Freddy Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara) was a Parsi (Zoroastrian) born in 1946 in Zanzibar, who grew up in India until his mid-teens. Yes, he certainly should’ve had braces, but they certainly wouldn’t have had the technology in India at that time. They didn’t even have it in Germany in the early 60’s!
@Dragonfly
LOL!!!!! LOL!!!!
@MissEva
I’m sure you are right about the technology not being there. Mercury had such an amazing vocal range. No matter what the man sang, it commanded your attention. What an incredible talent. Maybe even changing the teeth would have changed his sound. If that was the case, it just wouldn’t have been worth it.
This was fantastic!!!! It was a lot of fun looking at the childhood pix of these guys. Thanks!
I don’t think Freddie looked all that aweful as a grown man. As all of you noted, he had a rare gift of a beautiful and unusually stunning voice for a man. Captivate from the first note every time. It’s rare that that level of singer comes around. Funny, with all thes singing shows now popping up that no stunners such as he have been discovered yet. Just proves again what a rare occurance a voice like that is. Nothing short of perfection!
Reta (nice to “see” you) is so right. Would Freddie Mercury have made it on American Idol? I doubt it. That is why I like The Voice. How many fabulous voices have we missed out on because they didn’t come wrapped in a pretty Disneyesque package?
I thought that first pic was Jessica Pare’s brother.
Cool pic of Jim.
Where ya bin, REta?
Howsit?
………….TIME FLIES.
@Denise, so true!!
