DANIEL CRAIG: MOTHER'S LITTLE HELPER
At last, a James Bond we can sink our teeth into! This 007 runs errands for his girlfriend and takes care of her when she’s injured. Daniel Craig was photographed near his North London home, picking up newspapers and coffee for himself and his girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell. Satsuki injured her knee and she’s laid up on crutches so Daniel asked his own mother to visit and help care for her. So actually, it’s coffee for three. We prefer a modern James Bond who’s rugged and knows how to treat a woman.
No WONDER that Australian flight attendant who had a fling with Ralph Fiennes blabbed about it to the newspapers. Qantas stewardess Lisa Robinson made headlines when she admitted she joined the mile-high club with the actor during a flight from Australia to India. And she went on to describe their wild night in his hotel room after they landed. Qantas fired her, of course, and we’re pretty sure she’ll never see Ralph again. Why did she do it? Besides selling her story, now Lisa has admitted she worked as a prostitute in an Australian brothel “to pay the rent” before she got her airline gig. We figure she got tired of waiting on grouchy travelers and decided to go back to her old job – now her price goes up because she’s notorious and has credentials. Ironically, Fiennes flew to India to lecture certain villages about the perils of unsafe sex.
While you were watching American Next Top Model Sunday night we happened upon a time capsule from the sixties- “The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus” on KCET, the PBS educational station in LA. What a treat! We had no knowledge of thIs hour TV special filmed in the UK in 1968. Apparently it never aired and sat on a shelf for thirty odd years because Mick Jagger felt his performance wasn’t up to snuff. Imagine the young and tender Stones, The Who, John Lennon (in his first performance without The Beatles) Eric Clapton, Jethro Tull, Yoko Ono, This was one of Brian Jones‘ last shows – he appeared bloated and seemed to be in a stupor. Eric Clapton looked young and -yeah – geeky. What broke our heart was Marianne Faithfull. She was the least publicized of the acts and startlingly beautiful, with a great voice and unlimited potential, but her song was soft and ladylike. In those days they didn’t know what to do with female rockers. We want her haircut.

The death of Betty Hutton reminded us of how much we envied her cowgirl clothes in pictures of her Annie Get your Gun days. She wore spectacular parade quality fringed rhinestoned two piece gabardine outfits in colors that make your mouth water. And those fancy fringed gloves! Not to mention the hand tooled colorful cowboots! We hope the cowgirl look make a comeback.
