AMY WINEHOUSE: MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK!
In blues singer Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black album many of the songs reflected her ruptured heart when she caught her longtime boyfriend Blake Fielder Civil cheating and they split up. (She never removed the tattoo of his name that she had on her chest.) The songs describe her despair, her boozing to ease the pain, and the terrible feeling of betrayal. Apparently Blake got the message. He came back into her life and recently coaxed her into leaving her current boyfriend. And they just got engaged – she’s flashing a huge diamond ring. We’re happy for her, but what’s Amy going to sing about now?
Whitney Houston is having problems finishing her new album – which was supposed to come out in June. She and her producer Clive Davis are clashing- he wants one thing and she wants another. Whitney wants to stick to her successful old formula and use her own people on the album while Clive has new ideas. He wants NEW people like Christina Aguilera to collaborate with Whitney. Whitney seems to think she doesn’t NEED any new people while Clive insists they change with the times. Whitney’s pal Ray J has a song he recorded with Whitney that he’s dying to release on his album, but Clive’s label, Jive, isn’t cooperating. Whitney’s a handful, but Clive knows she’s worth it.
It’s not easy being Christopher Knight, who’s married to a model half his age. The Brady kid met his wife Adrianne Curry (the first winner on America’s Next Top Model) when they appeared on The Surreal Life together. Love bloomed and they spun off into their own show My Fair Brady which documented their marriage. Lively Adrianne is not easy to keep up with and apparently Christoper doesn’t want to be mistaken for her father. He was seen furtively leaving a dermatologist’s office on Wilshire at La Cienega the other day and he was hunched over, trying to cover up his face. His skin was discolored and blotchy as if he’d had some kind of laser or acid skin peel treatment to bring back a youthful glow.
Tom Cruise is still smarting from the snub New York Mayor Bloomberg gave him when the mayor declined to honor Cruise for his contributions to what is called the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project. 780 ailing Trade Center rescue workers have already undergone the “purification” treatment that involves megadoses of vitamins and hours in the sauna. The “Project” is a front for Scientology and the mayor felt they had nothing to do with legitimate science. Tom was in New York Thursday for a fund raiser for this group and tickets sold for $6,250 apiece. Just WHO attended the benefit is not known yet, because press was not invited. (We’re guessing wealthy Scientologists.) But the city of New York supposedly donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the organization before they realized what it was. Neither the NYPD or the FDNY supports the group but Tom insists his organization has proved that “recovery for the afflicted Ground Zero workers is possible.” And recruitment to Scientology is possible too!
It’s official. Jessica Alba is back on the open market. She and her longtime boyfriend Cash Warren are both telling everyone that they broke up over a week ago and that’s that. Friends speculate that Cash was too busy working all the time and Jessica was away working so much that they couldn’t keep it together. Cash isn’t a bad catch himself – he’s the Yale educated son of actor Michael Warren. Guys all over LA will be thrilled that Jessica is single again – now she has nothing to do on her birthday April 28. Cash was planning to take her to the Coachella rock concert but now that’s off. Jessica and Cash are hoping to keep the split civil but as of now, they’re not talking.
