Demi Lovato is living proof that not all 80’s fashions are worth resurrecting. Her bright aqua suit is tailored like denim but has monster padded shoulders and a shortie cut-off jacket. It just makes her look wider and shorter. Too bad because Demi is in fine shape right now. The good thing about bad fashion is you can take it off and forget about it.

We’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of the brilliant Nancy Meyers‘ The Intern starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway (Sept 25.) The trailer, above, indicates that the movie is smart and funny – with DeNiro at his comic best. He’d barely finished that project when De Niro started filming the Bernie Madoff story called The Wizard of Lies” for HBO. Michelle Pfeiffer plays his wife Ruth and judging by the first on-set photo released, it looks quite fascinating. It’s gratifying that DeNiro is 72 and still working nonstop. If only women could have such long acting careers…

We always get a kick out of “Bride of Chucky” star Jennifer Tilly – she was also memorable in the movie “Bound.” You don’t see her onscreen as often these days because she’s busy playing poker. Jennifer goes back and forth between poker and acting. Her tournament winnings total an impressive $890,000. One reason she keeps going back to poker is because her boyfriend of 11 years, Phil Laak, is a poker pro.

It’s odd that whimsical designer Jeremy Scott created such simple and classic ‘his and hers’ formal wear for himself and his muse Katy Perry for the premier of his documentary: “Jeremy Scott: The Peoples Designer.” Currently the Creative Director for Moschino, Jeremy has always been SO imaginative that average people have trouble working up the courage to wear his creative clothes. He livened up his own outfit by omitting the shirt. Of course, that meant he had to suck in his stomach all evening. The doc looks like an American success story- a small town boy from Missouri with lots of ambition grew up to be a celebrity designer. Good things DO happen.

David Charvet and Brooke Burke’s kids are doomed to the same fate as Cindy Crawford’s kids – they will probably be exceptionally good looking! Baywatch star Charvet and Dancing with the Stars former host Brooke (we miss her) have been together for 9 years and married for four years. They have a huge 3 acre estate in Malibu and have been feuding with a neighbor over their barking German Shepherds. Consequently, the Charvets put their house up for lease for $50,000 a month or for sale at 13 million. (Above, David and Brooke enjoyed the Kiwanis Fair in Malibu with daughter Heaven, 8, and son Shaya, 7.)

Singer Carnie Wilson knows what she’s doing when she shops at the Farmer’s Market. Since she retired from singing with Wilson Phillips, Carnie has gone to become a chef specializing in desserts. (For example: raspberry almond cheesecake or peanut butter pie) Her company is called Love Bites by Carnie and her desserts are exclusively featured at Vitello’s Restaurant. (Yes, the same restaurant where Robert Blake ate the night he killed his wife.) Carnie has struggled with her weight for years- she had gastric bypass surgery in 1999, and lap band surgery in 2012. (Above Carnie is with her oldest daughter Lola, 10.)

While Johnny Depp seems mired in mediocrity, his beautiful daughter’s career is full steam ahead. Lily-Rose Depp ,16, (her mother is French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis) has completed the movie Yoga Hosers with her dad, and she’s already signed for starring roles in two more films – one with Natalie Portman as her sister. She’s grown into a ravishing beauty – Lily-Rose was photographed getting coffee and sitting in a park near her Paris home, reading a script.

“Fury” star Shia LaBeouf, 29, is a decent actor, but has always been something of a loose cannon- and that’s why people find him interesting. After sporting long shaggy hair and an unkempt beard, Shia had all the hair on his face and head shaved off. He looks a lot rougher, but pretty good. Shia’s car accidents, belligerent fistfights, and arrests make one wonder about substance abuse. Unlike other guys who get their arms tattooed, Shia gets his thighs tattooed. To top it off, he alternately declares that he is Jewish or Christian. Quite a character.

Tiger Woods and his adorable little girl Sam, 8, have fallen into similar poses as they concentrate on watching a US Open tennis match in New York. She just might grow up to be an athlete. Tiger’s love life has seen better days, and his golf scores aren’t what they used to be, but he’s got some cute kids, thanks to his exwife Elin Nordegren.
