THE EQUALIZER IS NOW A WOMAN

Here’s a reboot we might even watch. Queen Latifah and Chris Noth are back on the streets filming The Equalizer in New York. They’ve been shut down since March due to Covid. Latifah (real name Dana Owens) is both starring and executive producing. She plays Robyn McCall, a retired ex CIA agent (spy) who seems troubled by some past mis-deeds, and eases her conscience by helping people who have nowhere to turn to get justice. She has the connections and experience. (A man played the lead, Robert McCall, in the original successful series in the 80’s.) Having a female lead makes the whole premise more interesting, and Latifah makes it seem more fun. Above, Chris Noth plays her old friend and confidant.

HERE’S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN

In fact it already did. Not only is Kelly Osbourne cursed with the mask we all have to wear, but she has added an eye patch! While getting her makeup done, Kelly’s eyeball collided with a stiff mascara brush and she got scratched. Kelly blames herself, not the makeup artist – she zigged when she should have zagged. To draw attention away from the bad eye, Kelly got her lavender hair done with a spit curl and a new pony tail. All in all, she looks pretty darn good walking to The Ivy to have lunch outside with friends.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MICHAEL MADSEN?

The Reservoir Dogs star arrived for his hand and footprint ceremony at the Chinese Theater and very few people showed up (Covid?) to watch. Madsen had two men helping him walk to the microphone and he appeared to be roaring drunk. He rambled hoarsely about how he “hit his head” and just got out of the hospital so he almost didn’t make it. Then he noticed his wife DeAnna siting in the sparse audience and he looked pleasantly surprised. He apologized to her for “all the bad things that happened in the last few days” said “I’m glad you’re here” and told her he loved her. Two guys helped him stagger over to the square of wet concrete and with their help, he signed and added his handprints. DeAnna was pulled over to pose with him for photos, but when the event ended they appeared to go their separate ways. Looks like she has to put up with a lot…

NORTH WEST IS ALREADY WEARING WIGS

Kim Kardashian is now teaching her seven year old daughter North the joy of wearing wigs. North has been watching her mom and aunts flaunting wigs since she was born, so it seems like a very natural thing to her. She already wears heels. Kim was criticized when North wore makeup for Christmas photos last year and dad Kanye West banned it. Most people would cringe at the idea of getting a child dependent on wigs. What’s next for the second grader? False eyelashes? Eyebrow sculpting? North DOES look cute in ads for Kim’s Skims collection for kids and she’s growing up fast…

AL ROKER CAN’T WAIT FOR 2020 TO BE OVER

An enormous number of people were relieved to hear that Al Roker’s prostate cancer surgery last week was a success. Despite the big shake-up at NBC a few years ago, Al was one of the survivors and he remains a morning show favorite. He was bombarded by get well wishes – even from people at competing networks. Al said he’s eager to get 2020 out of the way and this weekend he power walked in Central Park to hasten his getting back to business.

TIMOTHEE CHALAMET: IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT WOODY ALLEN

Timothee Chalamet appears to be lost in his thoughts as he rides his bike around Manhattan’s Battery Park. Just maybe, one of these days he will think about addressing his issues with Woody Allen. Is he blocking out what he did to devastate Woody’s career? When Timothee announced that he regretted working with Woody in A Rainy Day in New York and was donating his salary to charity, he implied that he believed the accusation that Woody was guilty of molesting his daughter Dylan in 1992. (Two investigations found Woody NOT guilty and NO ONE else ever accused him of such behavior) Following his lead, other actors backed away from Woody because they were afraid NOT to, and it was fashionable in the Time’s Up era. Amazon dumped the movie and Woody’s career is demolished. Yet Timothee refuses to discuss this horrific incident in interviews, citing “contractual obligations.” It’s time for Timothee to think and talk about this issue.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk’s little girl Lea already appears to be following in her supermodel mom’s footsteps. Today in New York she was dressed in a Burberry coat and looked just as together as Irina. Bradley is currently in Toronto where he resumed filming Nightmare Alley with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

Another day, another reboot. Gossip Girl is making a comeback and the only familiar voice will be Kristen Bell, the original narrator. See the new cast, above. (Wonder how long it will take before Covid shuts down production) The HBO Max show still follows the complicated lives of a bunch of privileged upper east side teens in New York. The original show ran from 2007 to 2012 and Blake Lively was the breakout star. This time around producers promise it’s updated – more gays and non-whites in the cast…

Kelly Osbourne is thoroughly enjoying her 85 pound weight loss thanks to her gastric sleeve surgery two years ago.
