Yesterday was a REALLY bad day for Rob Kardashian. Singer Rita Ora and New Zealand Actor/Director Taika Waititi announced that they are engaged. Rob carried a torch for Rita for years- in fact their short-lived romance seemed to change his life. Rob was deliriously happy back in 2012 when he and Rita (only 20 at the time) dated for a few lively months. Rob was very sociable  in those days- appearing on the family TV series and working on his sock business. Rita broke his heart when she dumped him and never looked back. He accused her of cheating with 20 other guys and made it clear he was devastated. After that, he half-heartedly dated a few women, but nothing serious until Blac Chyna snapped him up. He admits his life was a mess and he was vulnerable in those days. Since then he turned into a recluse, and he’s the only Kardashian we never see.

KANYE SCRAMMED AND LEFT A SMALL TOWN IN TATTERS

Kanye West’s grandiose plans to relocate Yeezy fashion headquarters to Cody, Wyoming were dashed long ago and now he can’t even unload the ranch he bought for himself and family there. You might remember Kim and their children reluctantly visiting him a few years back after he bought it and installed a go-kart track. It was obvious Kim could not picture herself living there. Kanye had promised the tiny town of Cody (pop. 9,810) that he would provide jobs  and enrich the town so they rolled out the red carpet for him. After Kim filed for divorce in Feb 2021, Kanye lost interest in his big ideas and put the properties he had bought there up for sale. So far his 11 million dollar ranch has had no offers and the town residents are very disappointed.

CAN JULIA ROBERTS AND ETHAN HAWKE EXIST WITHOUT INTERNET?

Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke are on a New York beach filming Leave the World Behind and it looks like a fascinating movie. They play a couple with children who have been eagerly anticipating their family dream vacation, so they rent a holiday home in a beach town. Suddenly there’s a total blackout in the city and the owners of the home arrive. Nobody knows what’s happening because there is no internet, TV, radio, or landlines working. Sonic booms begin, and animals start to behave strangely. The renters are upscale and white, and the house owners are upscale and black, – people start freaking out and racial issues are added to the frightening things happening all around…

JULIA GARNER IS THE MATERIAL GIRL

To no one’s surprise, Julia Garner (Ozark) has been cast to play Madonna in the Universal biopic of her life- and she was cast BY Madonna. It was no easy casting process. All actresses under consideration for the role were put through complex dance, acting, and singing sessions, often under Madonna’s watchful eye. (She IS directing the film) Garner was already a frontrunner because she resembles Madonna, but she had to prove she can sing and dance like her also. And you KNOW Madonna has high standards for herself. We can’t help but wonder which actors will be cast by Madonna to play her long list of boyfriends (Tony Ward, Dennis Rodman, Carlos Leon etc) – and will she FALL for one of them?

DAVID SPADE : PERENNIAL LADIES MAN

David Spade ALMOST got away with sneaking out of the opening of Catch Steak LA this weekend with a very young and beautiful girl (right behind him.) He’s not the kind of guy to FLAUNT his puzzling success with the female sex, but he continues quietly scoring with women, even though he’s 57 – and 5’7” on a good day. Ex -fling Heather Locklear claimed he is well endowed, but he’s shy and won’t talk about that. His sense of humor has to be a big draw -and he’s an astute businessman. The SNL grad just sold his 6400 sq ft Edward Fickett Trousdale home for $19.5 million (he bought it for 4 million in 2001.) He’s NOT down-sizing- he already moved into his brand new $13.85 million, 11,300 sq ft bachelor pad in the Hollywood Hills.

AMY SCHUMER: BACK TO THE FUTURE

Amy Schumer celebrated what she called her “second 40th birthday” – her 41st- at a place we didn’t know existed- the TWA Hotel. The TWA hotel opened in the fabulous old Pan Am airline building at JFK that opened in 1962- designed by Eero Saarinen. We were lucky to have traveled on Pan Am more than once and the building’s futuristic feeling was always thrilling. It was the first time we remember feeling architectural excitement. SO glad the building was saved when it became too small for modern planes. The hotel opened before the pandemic and is lucky to still be around. All furnishings are midcentury modern and a vintage plane has been turned into a cocktail bar. All this and it’s dog-friendly! Amy and friends had a great time exploring and partying all weekend.

GUESS WHO’S LOOKING FOR A BOYFRIEND

Maybe the fact that she’s now single has inspired Madonna to fall back into old habits. You might remember, she had times in her life when nudity and shock value were very important to her- usually between boyfriends. Her fans had widely varying reactions to this questionable photo she posted and captioned “jet lag.” As usual there were guys drooling, but plenty of scolding, too. Some were gagging and called her a narcissist. Others feared this pic would “damage her legacy.” Others accused her of “trying way tooo hard” and suggested she “get help.” An older more practical fan commented “I cringe for your kids.” We’re guessing Madonna won’t read the negative comments, but we do hope she finds a boyfriend soon…

LORI HARVEY AND MICHAEL B JORDAN : BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO

Just when Steve Harvey thought his daughter Lori Harvey had settled down with “a nice guy” Michael B Jordan, things fell apart and the couple split. Steve clearly remembers Lori’s LAST boyfriend Future (he has 8 kids with 8 different women) and he was happy and relieved when she took up with Black Panther star Michael, who has never had a playboy reputation. Instagram model Lori, 25, and Micheal, 34, seemed to be dizzily in love for almost a year and a half- they were the perfect couple. For the past 6 months Lori has been dieting (1200 calories a day) and working out and she has lost over fifteen pounds. She has never looked better. Both claim to be heartbroken, but one is certainly MORE heartbroken than the other…
