Everybody makes a mistake once in awhile- but this person is usually King AND Queen on the red carpet! It’s singer/actor Billy Porter, of course, and who can forget his black velvet tuxedo gown designed by Christian Siriano at the 2019 Oscars? Billy has a big personality and when he arrives on a red carpet everything comes to a standstill. PARIS JACKSON SAYS NO THANKS TO HOLLYWOOD MCMANSIONS

Paris Jackson just bought herself a new house in the Hollywood Hills and it couldn’t be more appropriate. She may be one of the wealthiest young women in Hollywood, but you wouldn’t guess it by her purchase. Paris considers herself to be a modern-day hippie so she avoided the gaudy McMansions and acquired an upscale wood and stone cabin for 3.8 million. It’s a comparatively modest 3000 sq ft, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. (No indulgent walk-in closets) She loves the fact that it has an art studio and a music studio, plus a free-form saltwater pool. She probably isn’t at all impressed that Rock Hudson once lived there. (note the rustic bathroom)

WILL SMITH’S “APOLOGY” WASN’T MEANT FOR CHRIS ROCK

If you thought Will Smith’s apology to Chris Rock for slapping him at the Oscars was stiff and insincere, you are not alone. There’s a noteworthy difference between saying “I apologize” and “I am sorry. ”

According to Google: There is a subtle difference between saying “I’m sorry” and “I apologize.” An apology is a formal admission of a wrongdoing. It may or may not be heartfelt — i.e., a person may apologize without feeling remorseful. On the other hand, saying “I am sorry” is usually seen as being a truer admission of regret.

Not only did Will offer a stiff “apology” but he made a subtle reference in his speech that implied that Rock’s innocuous joke about Jada’s bald head was meant as an insult – thus giving him a good reason to become violent. All in all, it seems Will Smith made that speech because he was pressured into it- NOT because thinks he was wrong. Will’s speech was actually just a PR move to get fans to forgive him.

DONNA MILLS: THIS IS WHAT 81 LOOKS LIKE!

These photos are  bound to cheer up a lot of people – Donna Mills looks fabulous! We didn’t realize it, but the Knots Landing star makes a surprise appearance in Jordan Peele’s scary film Nope. Donna says she was sworn to secrecy and not allowed to reveal that she was in the film before it was released. You might also remember Donna from the Clint Eastwood movie Play Misty For Me. We haven’t seen her for years because she took time off to raise her tall and beautiful adopted daughter Chloe, who is now a successful model and influencer. Donna is deliriously happy to be acting again and she hopes to get roles for glamorous grandmas – not just old ladies…

CHRIS ROCK: THE SLAP BROUGHT GOOD LUCK

Ever since that Oscar Slap, good things keep happening for Chris Rock. The Slap was a real shock to his system and his ego, but despite his discomfort with it, his comedy tour started selling OUT. Onstage he didn’t want to talk about The Slap but he joked about being “lonely in his fifties.” (Can you believe he’s 57?) The next thing we knew, he had found himself a girlfriend and they were seen vacationing together in Croatia. Lake Bell, 43, is a cute and accomplished actress, writer, and director, and most important, she’s known for being FUNNY. She was backstage at Madison Square Garden for Chris’s big show there last week with Kevin Hart, and turns up at his other shows whenever possible. Chris has very little to complain about these days…

ANA DE ARMAS: UNLIKELY BUT ADORABLE MARILYN MONROE

We had never heard of Ana de Armas, 34, until Ben Affleck started dating her during the pandemic. In 2019, Knives Out was released and she made quite a splash. She met Ben when they filmed Deep Water in 2020 and they seemed to spend every day together afterward until they drifted apart in 2021. It was quite an accomplishment when this Cuban/Spanish actress was cast to play Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix feature Blonde, described as a “psychological drama.” Certainly it was easier for her to LOOK like Marilyn than to imitate her breathy American accent. The movie’s director says he aims to show what it felt like to BE Marilyn. Ana posted the above photo from the film – Bobby Cannavale plays her husband, the baseball star Joe DiMaggio.

ALEC BALDWIN IS SET TO TIE THE NICK CANNON RECORD

Nick Cannon’s announcement this week that he just fathered his 8th child, reminded us that the OTHER actor in competition for father of the decade, Alec Baldwin, is expecting his 8th baby this fall. The main difference between these two prolific guys is that Nick’s babies have many different mothers, while six of Alec’s kids come from his current wife Hilaria, and one (Ireland, 26) from his ex-wife Kim Basinger. Alec’s wife Hilaria had two miscarriages in 2019, so Alec fell behind in the race with Cannon. We wonder if Hilaria’s pretending to be Spanish has anything to do with her desire to have SO many kids with a 64 year old father. What IS she thinking? ALL the Baldwin kids are under the age of 9 – can you imagine the chaos in that household? And Hilaria, 38, does NOT appear to be slowing down…

ALICIA SILVERSTONE: BED, BATH, AND BEYOND

Clueless star Alicia Silverstone, 45, seems to take great care of her dogs- she’s frequently seen walking them in the Hollywood Hills. It’s her parenting methods that have never ceased to amaze us. When her son Bear was a baby, Alicia used to chew his vegetarian meals FOR him and spit the food into his mouth, like a bird does. She insists it’s a very “natural“ thing to do. In 2020, when Bear was 9, Alicia revealed that she and her long-haired Bear took baths together. THAT was a difficult mental picture. Now Bear is 11, and Alicia recently confessed that she and her son still SLEEP together. We can’t help but wonder what this is doing to Bear- do his friends make fun of him? Does he HAVE friends?

MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY WAS IN NO HURRY TO GET MARRIED

Matthew McConaughey ,53, and his Brazilian model wife Camila Alves,43, were guests at the Gran Prix races in France, and from the way he holds her hand, they look very together. They met in 2006 and their first son Levi was born in 2008. Matthew was happily unmarried and didn’t want to jinx it by actually tying the knot. (He admired Kurt and Goldie’s relationship.) But in 2010 after their daughter Vida was born, Camila gave Matthew an ultimatum: it’s now or never. Matthew admitted he didn’t want to do it just because it was the RIGHT thing to do – he wanted to WANT to get married. After talking to both divorced and happily married friends, he decided he DID want to, and they married in 2012 with no regrets so far…

IS THIS THE PERFECT FAMILY, OR WHAT?

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck didn’t spend ALL their time smooching in Paris, where they’re honeymooning with four of their kids. Jennifer brought her twins Max and Emme, and Ben brought his two daughters Seraphina and Violet – he left his young son Sam at home. From all the photos we’ve seen, the kids seem to get along really well and love to hang out together. Ben and Jen took their blended family shopping and after visiting Dior and an art supply store (for Serephina) they visited Micromania– a popular video game retailer. Ben stocked up on games (for Sam at home?) while their eagle-eyed bald bodyguards (above) looked on. You can see Emme in the shop doorway and Max is next to Ben. Crowds gather outside the Costes Hotel in Paris to watch the honeymooners coming and going.
