Jenny McCarthy confessed she was a little nervous when she introduced her boyfriend Jim Carrey to her five year old son Evan. She didn’t know how either of them would react because Evan is autistic. To her great relief they completely hit it off- Jim really liked Evan right away and the boy was thrilled to meet “The Grinch.” Jim and Evan actually bonded and spend a lot of time together. Carrey surprised Jenny by quietly donating $100,000 to the autism charity that she’s involved in.
How sad about her son.
There’s truly a huge generation of autistic kids coming up.
Environmental polution & mercury is taking it’s toll.
Enviromental pollution and mercury does not have scientific evidence that it produces autistic children!
My question is if he “quietly” donated money to autism charities, how it became public knowledge?
Oh yeah, because everything celebrities do is for the publicity.
Yawn.
That’s good that he donated to her charity that is very sweet. Autism has been around for more than 30 years, I should know because my sister and now her son suffers from Autism. Doctors used to diagnosis kids as slow, retarded when I knew it wasn’t case. They just need more attention, early prevention and consistency to live a normal life.
Thats a great gift, much better than a diamond ring. It has the potential to help so many people, not like some shiny bauble. It’s so lame but I reckon they’ll last as a couple because I just think they look right for each other somehow.
Speaking of diamond rings, has anyone noticed she hasn’t been wearing hers lately? She’s also partying up in Vegas with a bunch of guys, no Jim around, and she looks a bit toasted.
I wonder if she feels the same way about him, that he feels about her? Hmmmmm.
There r more autistic kids around because more people r doing drugs.
ONLY $100,000…. That’s like chump change to some of these Hollywood Actors who’ve made a few movies.
Hey Jimmy, try up’ing it to a million. Damn cheap Canadians.
When is that guy going to marry that girl ??? Make sure you get a PRENUP!
So you don’t really get raked over the coals.
actually, I could see Jim hitting it off with an autistic person more than an average kid. He is so out there, I imagine he has difficulty interacting socially. Hanging out with someone who is quirky and “in their own world” seems perfect for Jim
Good for him for the donation!
Hope he does more to support this cause.
quietly?
Jim’s likely a little Aspergers syndrome…somewhat.
That was nice Jim.
“Cheap” Canadians, Sunseeds!?
You’ve never even been out of Tennessee let alone to Canada.
Hillbilly head case.
Autism has been linked to the MMR vaccination as has Crohns disease.
I live in Canada and they might not have a lot going for them (not all of them) but they are not ‘cheap’ when it comes to charities.
Way to go, Jenny and Jim!! I have Asperger’s Syndrome (a form of Autism) and anything positive that can be done for Autism is very much appreciated.
