JACK AND JILL: ADAM SANDLER IN DRAG AS HIS OWN TWIN SISTER

We tend to like Adam Sandler as a person more than we like most of his movies, but this one tickles our fancy. In “Jack and Jill” he plays a normal husband (married to Katie Holmes) who has a pushy obnoxious twin sister who has more in common with him than he cares to admit. (Adam loves doing drag.) She arrives for a holiday visit and the fun begins this fall. The trailer IS rather inviting.

  1. The twin sister looks like what Adam’s daughter, I suspect, will look like when she is grown up. Poor thing.

  2. The only film he showed his chops in was the 9/11 film which name escapes me.

I won’t go see this film as Janet and I have very different taste in Film.

  3. I love mindless entertainment and this one seems to be in that category. Somehow I always end up enjoying Sandler’s movies.

Let’s see a funny movie and a large buttered popcorn and some chocolate almonds……..recipe for a perfect evening. 🙂

  4. @Walt, on Tuesdays, when tickets and snacks are half price makes it even better.

  5. Where do they get the money to make such a shitty movie?

  6. It’s all been done before in various movies.. and Sandler isn’t funny, he’s annoying, his movies are borderline moronic and appeal to the creepy jerk in all of us if you like him.

  7. As far as acting goes you really know how to push everything to the limit and jack and jill is really crazy and strange but what I really like about you is your singing and I Really love that about any movie you make and your playing your Guitar really rocks it out and makes it worth while to see that movie more then once but your crazy and strange and your a weird actor and your nuts but your fun.

  8. @Denise,

Your right! Half price even makes it better!!! Too bad the food isn’t half price!!! LOL

Loved Sandler in the Waterboy. When his mom in the movie (the wonderful Kathy Bates) is tacking that wanted poster of a gorilla on the wooden pole, I always lose it & die laughing.

  9. Denise. We call cheap Tuesday at the movies…”Jewish Tuesday.”

  10. Well Patrick, even we Non-Jews like to take advantage of a good deal.

@Walt, the food is half off as well at the Showcase theatre we go to which lessens the pain.

I should comment on Adam Sandler. I am really not a fan, although my husband and son scream with laughter at that Happy Gilmour movie. He’s been all over Boston for the past few months shooting a film and there have been comments in the paper about what a nice guy he seems to be.

  11. @Denise,

It’s just as well. If the food was half price, I would end up eating more. I’m distracting enough as it is when I’m rooting around head first in a barrel of buttered popcorn. LOL
