Before Brittney Griner was released, we all read about the horrible medieval conditions in the Russian penal colony she was sent to. Besides not speaking the language, 16 hour work days, often 7 days a week at the sewing machines, 3 toilets for 100 women, plus psychological torture- if someone did something wrong, EVERYONE was punished. Scary, but what REALLY illustrated the misery of that prison was the fact that Brittney chose to cut off her dreadlocks because after she took a shower it was SO cold that they FROZE stiff …and she had a long winter ahead.

She chose to take an illegal substance into a hostile foreign country. I don’t have a lot of sympathy for her. Just because she makes the current administration look hip and tuned in is the only reason she’s free at all. I don’t wish anyone to be a prisoner of any state but use your brain and don’t cry later when you’re busted.
