Now that his boozing is costing him some money, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, 33, might actually take his current stay in rehab seriously. The sexy Tudors star has a bad habit of getting drunk and disorderly in airports and has been in rehab three times before his recent check-in. He‘s also been the spokesperson for Hugo Boss for since 2006, but now they’ve replaced him with Jared Leto.
For some reason we were never aware of British actor Henry Cavill who starred on “The Tudors,” so we were surprised to hear he was cast as the new “Superman.” He’s quite a looker and we immediately noted his startling resemblance to another pretty Englishman, Gavin Rossdale. Maybe someday Henry will be costarring in “The Gwen Stefani story.”

“The Tudors” star Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his girlfriend of six years, Reena Hammer, are loading groceries into the car at Bristol Farms in Beverly Hills. Cosmetics heiress Reena has been through a lot with Jonathan in their years together – he’s been in rehab three times and most recently was involved in a brawl at the Paris airport where he allegedly threatened to kill bar staffers. (Did they cut him off?) The volatile actor seems calm today and it look like he’s beefing up his height with those heels.
He’s perplexing. “Tudors” star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested for public drunkenness and breach of the peace at the Dublin airport, so no one was surprised in February when he supposedly went off to rehab. Now he tells us he DIDN’T really go to rehab – he made up that story because he needed time off- especially from award shows. (Can’t blame him – those award shows can be a nuisance.) But he allows that he did see “a counselor” for some reason. He looks rather healthy and sexy here as he walks out of Katsuya in Hollywood.
We’ve always been fascinated by men wearing elevator shoes so we were delighted to see this photo of Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his intricately built up boots. He’s currently filming The Tudors at a castle in Dublin. Jonathan plays the notorious Henry VIII and at 5’9″ he just isn’t imposing enough. These leather boots were constructed with lifts outside and inside. It looks like they add around four inches to Jonathan’s height. He’s accustomed to wearing heels – remember, Jonathan plays basketball in cowboy boots.
You’d never guess what Jonathan Rhys Meyers is doing on Sunday nights when his series The Tudors airs. He’s not at a viewing party of any kind, celebrating his success. Fact is, he’s at home alone in front of his TV set, taking copious notes on his performance. THAT’S how intense he is about his acting. He’s not ALWAYS dead serious, however. Jonathan has been living in a house in Nichols Canyon in LA, and neighbors enjoy watching him play basketball alone in his driveway, wearing cowboy boots.
