QUICK! IS THIS A MAN OR A WOMAN?

If you saw the Thom Browne fashion show in Paris, it might take you awhile to answer. The male and female models wore the same styles -with skirts galore- with most in platform heels. Female models often had lopsided wigs and makeup that made their faces look distorted by a stroke. What we DIDN’T see was anything tight, low cut or sexy – which was rather refreshing. One thing for certain – the actual clothing in Thom Browne stores looks a lot more wearable than the clothing in the show…

Fashion Jared Leto Skirt

JARED LETO: THE RIGHT COMBO OF CONFIDENCE AND ECCENTRICITY

Let’s talk about Jared Leto’s fashion. He definitely looks rockstar pretty here at the London premier of House of Gucci in this teal velvet suit. Note the feminine jewelry and sheer scarf instead of a shirt – and don’t forget the glitter handbag. We predict that Jared will be the next male celebrity to wear a skirt or a dress. He already wears skirts over pants and wore a floor length wraparound “gown” to the Met Gala. He’s definitely experimenting with extending boundaries and Harry Styles’ penchant for women’s clothing might push him over the edge. It’s very odd, but it seems more rappers are wearing skirts than actors. It takes a perfect blend of confidence and eccentricity for a straight guy to be happy in a skirt. Jared has it.

Men in Skirts Paris Fashion Week Skirt

PARIS FASHION WEEK: MORE SKIRTS FOR MEN

It’s men’s Fashion Week in Paris again and we wonder how the usually extravagant shows are being put together, considering the fact that last time we heard, Paris was in lockdown with a curfew. But the show must go on, and at first glance we thought this was a female model – but it’s not. Lots of skirts for men on the runways this year. Many are described as “cargo skirts” to up the masculinity factor. This outfit is by Reese Cooper could go either way and it works with sneakers. Most of his clothes have that distinctive little clip on the chest- but what could it be used for?

Album David Duchovny Skirt

WHY IS DAVID DUCHOVNY WEARING A SKIRT?

We might never have known that X-Files star David Duchovny, 55, released an album if he hadn’t been seen wearing this SKIRT. Actually, it’s a kilt – most likely a Utilikilt favored by manly men. The actor turned singer was photographed promoting his album “Hell or >Highwater” in the UK, perhaps hoping to win over the Scottish crowd.The album got decent reviews but we can’t help but wonder why Duchovny’s shirt is soaked with sweat under a leather jacket.

Our two favorite celebrity looks at the Christian Dior fashion show in Paris: Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence – she’s staying at the incredibly posh Ritz hotel while she enjoys Fashion Week. It’s amazing what a hit movie can do for you. Jennifer looks appropriately beautiful in her summer dress and we wonder what’s in those goody bags. CFDA Marc Jacobs Seth Meyers Skirt

HAS MARC JACOBS STARTED A SKIRT TREND FOR MEN?

The CFDA Awards (Council of Fashion Designers of America) is called the Oscars of the fashion world, and participants take it very seriously. So SNL’s Seth Meyers, who hosted, had his work cut out for him. Besides his hilarious comments about Galliano etc, he parodied designer Marc Jacobs outfit at the Met Ball. Seth wore the same sheer Comme des Garcons dress with boxer shorts. On a serious note. we hear that some of Marc Jacobs friends and business associates are very concerned about his extravagant behavior lately. Scandals involving pornstar boyfriends and illegal substances make people wonder about the successful designer’s state of mind.

Jay Z Kanye West Skirt Utilikilt

KANYE WEST GOT COLD FEET IN A SKIRT ONSTAGE

Kanye West wanted to be the first hip hop star to wear a skirt onstage, but he chickened out at the last minute. Monday night he performed at Madison Square Garden with Jay-Z and he wore a black leather kilt, BUT he wore jeans underneath (perhaps a necessity onstage) Apparently he took a lot of flak backstage so he threw on an oversize t- shirt that almost covered the entire skirt. Only a bit of the hem peeked out. It might be a Utilikilt, which is made for men, or something from his own collection. But it does take courage.
