WHY MATTHEW PERRY’S COSTARS ON FRIENDS HAVE BEEN SILENT

Countless celebrities have taken to social media to memorialize Matthew Perry after his unexpected death at 54 on October 28. His 5 Friends costars, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer have remained silent. According to my source the tight knit group is debating whether to issue a joint statement or individual ones. My source says that the group wants to schedule their statements so they are released at the same time. It’s likely to be the SAME statement but they’re all in such a state of shock and mourning that they’re changing their plans by the moment. My source expects something will be released today…

MATTHEW PERRY CAST HIMSELF IN THE WRONG PART

As soon as we heard about Matthew Perry producing and reviving an updated version of The Odd Couple TV series, we thought he’d be perfect as the persnickety Felix Unger. But oddly enough, in perhaps what might be a rush of misplaced masculinity, Matthew cast himself as the sloppy sportswriter Oscar Madison. Shouldn’t that role be played by someone more like his former Friends costar Matt Le Blanc? (It might be even more fun if Matthew Perry’s character Felix was gay.) Casting isn’t the only challenge here. The original writer Neil Simon wrote brilliant dialog and it won’t be easy to come anywhere near the quality of his work.

We honestly didn’t recognize this well-known actor – partly because we’re used to seeing him with grey hair! It’s Joey from “Friends” – Matt LeBlanc- and he has moved on to star on “Episodes,” which has been picked up for a third season by Showtime. To celebrate, he went to Big 5 Sporting Goods in LA and bought loads of camping equipment – sleeping bags, etc- apparently he’s planning a big camping trip with SOMEBODY…

Living in London while he films his new Showtime series “Episodes” seems to really agree with Matt LeBlanc. He’s letting his naturally grey hair grow out and it’s surprisingly flattering – especially with that suit. Matt says he had to dye his prematurely grey hair while playing Joey on ‘Friends.” His new series is complicated – it’s about a fictional British series being remade for American TV and Matt plays a parody of himself.

It’s “Friends “ star Matt LeBlanc living the posh life in London and he’s looking mature and handsome. The graying hair is not at all bad and it’s nice to see him NOT in a t- shirt and jeans. Matt is playing himself in a new series called “Episodes” aimed for the BBC and Showtime. It sounds like it might be good – the co-creator of “Friends” and a writer from “Mad About You” are responsible. Looks like “Joey’s” doing OK.

SOS for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip! Matthew Perry is frantic because the big budget heavily promoted drama series that NBC expected to be a shoo-in, is floundering in the ratings. In fact, it seems to be sabotaging the whole night for the network. Matthew wants to save the show and he’s turned to his Friends costars for help. He’s begging Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow to guest star. So far no takers! No one has really turned him down flat, they’re just putting him off, saying they’re busy and maybe later. Looks like nobody wants to jump on a sinking ship.
