KATIE HOLMES HAS TO CHOOSE HER WORDS CAREFULLY

It’s not the least bit surprising to hear that Katie Holmes refused to talk about her ex-husband Tom Cruise for this week’s cover interview in People magazine. The Daily News reported that before Katie did the interview she laid out lots of ground rules. Among them: She didn’t want the interview to be based on her marriage to Tom, she didn’t want Tom’s name on the cover, and she wanted the interview to be positive. Katie wasn’t being difficult. Fact is, like Tom’s ex Nicole Kidman, Katie doesn’t want to inadvertently say ANYTHING the least bit offensive about Tom. Both ex-wives are scared and don’t want Scientologists getting riled up. And chances are, they signed confidentiality agreements when they were divorced.

For those too young to recognize her- this is the brilliant writer and social commentator Fran Lebowitz. Fran was discovered by Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine and started her career writing a highly entertaining monthly column. At that time we were in the fashion business, but we were SO taken by her style of writing that we decided to give it a try and started writing gossip for movie magazines. Fran was indeed our inspiration, and we made it a point to read everything she wrote. If you haven’t already read her books Metropolitan Life and Social Studies, do it now. CONRAD MURRAY: THE LATE MICHAEL JACKSON HAS NO RIGHT TO PRIVACY

Michael Jackson’s kids probably feel awful now that Conrad Murray is out of jail and doing interviews right and left. Apparently dead patients have no right to privacy because Murray is revealing as many Michael secrets as he can remember. One unpleasant detail is the fact that according to the talkative doctor, Michael was incontinent. It makes sense, Propofol is used for patients having surgery and they have empty bladders. Michael needed a catheter to make it through a night of Propofol sleep. THAT’S how insane his drug addiction was. Murray said Michael always wore black pants in case he leaked in the daytime. The doctor also verified that Michael did not father any of his children. We suspect he’s planning to sell what he knows about their lineage for a big price, along with his own opinion as to whether Michael was a pedophile.

SUPERMODEL? NOPE, IT’S CLAIRE DANES!

“Homeland” star Claire Danes, 34, has come a long way since she starred as a teen on the highly praised “My So-Called Life.” She’s done a lot of movies but found her biggest successes on TV. Now that she’s married to Hugh Dancy and they have a one year old son Cyrus, those 14 hour days filming Homeland aren’t so appealing, but she loves her job. Interview magazine made her look more glamorous than we’ve ever seen her.

GAVIN ROSSDALE HAS FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED HIS TEENAGE FLING WITH A MAN

We’re guessing that Gavin Rossdale had some serious ‘splaining to do to his wife Gwen Stefani after his startling interview with Details magazine in which he finally verified his youthful affair with another man. Rumors of Gavin’s teenage fling with gender bending 80’s performer Marilyn (real name Peter Robinson) who was a close friend of Boy George, have floated for years. Marilyn insisted Gavin was “the love of my life.” (young Gavin and Marilyn both look rather girly in photo above) Boy George backed him up, and after years of dismissing the stories, Gavin has come clean. He said it was “experimental.” Immediately after giving the interview Gavin is said to have panicked and asked to have his confession removed, but the magazine refused. Gavin realized his wife didn’t know about the affair, but she certainly does now. How do you think Gwen reacted to the news?
