FKA TWIGS KNOWS HOW TO MAKE AN ENTRANCE

LOVE this photo of singer FKA Twigs arriving at the Rick Owens menswear show in Paris because she’s stealing the thunder from all the guys with her outrageous appearance. She’s brave- she shaved her head into this look we’ve never seen before. Her face markings LOOK like tattoos – hopefully they are not permanent. (You may remember, from 2015 to 2017, Rob Pattinson was actually her boyfriend) Twigs’ outfit looks like Rick Owens and the pleated boots are definitely Owens – he calls them rhino shoes. Twigs has a new album coming out any minute called Eusexua and North West is featured on it!

ASAP ROCKY DOESN’T LOOK LIKE A FELON

Have you EVER seen ASAP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) looking more refined and self-confident? And INNOCENT. Rihanna must be SO proud. Along with his security and legal team, Rocky turned up looking like THIS (we especially love the glasses) for his assault trial jury selection. He’s accused of assault with a semiautomatic firearm (two shots at a former childhood friend and fellow member of hip hop group ASAP Mob) in 2022. He already turned DOWN a plea deal that would give him 180 days in jail. Hopefully he is as innocent as he LOOKS…

TIMOTHEE CHALAMET IS WORTH LOOKING AT

When it comes to fashion, we have to give Timothee Chalamet credit where credit is due. When he promotes his new movies, he dresses UP! And he experiments with totally unexpected looks. (Fortunately it appears his girlfriend Kylie Jenner is NOT influencing his style.) We give credit to Timothee’s female stylist Taylor McNeill for his wild collection of looks often incorporating scarves. Timothee’s open mind about fashion has brought him partnerships with Chanel and Cartier, so it’s paying off. Above, he’s sporting burgundy velvet “denim” by True Religion at the Italian premier of A Complete Unknown.

MELANIA TRUMP: BAD NEWS FOR RALPH LAUREN

The heck with traditions: Former and soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump wants what she wants. Melania is arguably the most fashion interested First Lady since Jackie Kennedy, and as she prepares for her husband’s inauguration, she wants to break with the unofficial tradition of wearing American designers. Instead she is looking to the major couture houses in Europe including Chanel, Valentino, and Dolce and Gabbana, to design her clothes for the inauguration and all of the related events. My source explains that THIS time around, Melania feel she has nothing to lose since Donald is prohibited from running again after his term ends, so she plans on wearing whatever SHE wants – regardless of how outrageous or expensive it is.

LUIGI MANGIONE IS A SOCIAL MEDIA DARLING

Who would have guessed that accused murderer Luigi Mangione would become a fashion icon? (WE cannot help loving this tidbit) Mangione appeared with much fanfare at his arraignment hearing in New York this week wearing a burgundy sweater and grey pants. Luigi pled NOT GUILTY. Tik Tok and other social media platforms went bonkers talking about his sweater – someone decided it was a Margiela washed lambswool crewneck that sold for $1000 on SSense.com. It was sold out. Awhile later, someone on another social media platform declared ” No – the sweater is actually a washable Merino crewneck on sale at Nordstrom for $62.65.” THAT burgundy sweater also sold out. Luigi Mangione has already been declared a fashion folk hero, and we can hardly wait to see what he wears next…

GIGI HADID EXPANDED HER CLOTHING BUSINESS

Model Gigi Hadid celebrated the opening of her pop-up store called Guest in Residence on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills this weekend. She already has a store in New York that features lots of cashmere and knit sweaters along with quilted puffers and warm winter clothing. LA is an odd choice for a winter clothing store- fortunately the shop is temporary. Bradley Cooper flew in for the opening and took Gigi out to dinner at Giorgio Baldi with her dad, so their relationship is still going strong…

Don’t be too surprised if Jennifer Garner starts looking like Jennifer Lopez! As we previously reported, both of Ben Affleck’s exes, have developed a true friendship and spend time together without Ben. Now that she’s in the process of looking for a new home, J.Lo recently cleaned out her closets and donated a vast amount of clothing to various charities, but she also gave Jennifer first dibs. Although the gals have vastly different styles, Jennifer was able to scoop up a few chunky cashmere sweaters and some accessories that Lopez no longer wanted.

Kevin Costner’s divorce from his second wife Christine Baumgartner just became final, and he attended the 15th Annual Governor’s Awards last weekend looking like THIS. We have to assume that his wives were in the habit of dressing him, because this leading man has never looked WORSE. It’s not easy for a masculine man to look good in pastel colors – especially PINK. CARRIE’S NEW FASHION IS NOT SO DELIGHTFUL

Sorry to say that And Just Like That is NOT living up to the fashion standards of predecessor Sex & The City. The original wardrobe designer for City, Patricia Field, chose not to continue working for the new series. We really miss her! And here’s WHY! (see photo above) Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie looks quite uncomfortable in this peculiar pink and red combo with the plaid overcoat. The sequin top is matronly and the hat is just plain goofy. And we usually LOVE bright colors! Our beloved Carrie deserves better…
