AWKWAFINA IS OFFICIALLY A CRAZY RICH ASIAN

Comedian Awkwafina (born Nora Lum) paid her dues for years on the stand-up comedy circuit. Little did she suspect at the time, that she would ultimately find her success as a movie actress. Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians started the ball rolling and this year she won a Golden Globe for The Farewell. Last year her Comedy Central series Awkwafina is Nora from Queens was a hit and renewed for a second season. How did she celebrate? Awkwafina did what smart girls do- she invested in real estate. She traded in the West Hollywood condo she bought in 2019 for a 3.5 million dollar streamline-moderne inspired home in Bel Air. The 3500 plus sq ft house has all the frills, but it’s on the top of a gated hill with a gorgeous views. We wonder if it’s too isolated for a sociable girl.

The pleating and detailing of the layers of fabric is luscious and it goes on forever. This modern gown has NO restrictions! It’s not tight anywhere, just graceful and feminine. No need for industrial strength spanx or other compressive underwear or tape – Gemma actually looks comfortable – a look you rarely see at the Oscars! We would give anything to see a photo of Gemma (and other actresses in bouffant gowns) as they are SITTING in the theater. Where do they put all that skirt – do they roll it up on their laps – stuff half on their date’s lap? Inquiring minds want to know…

HENRY GOLDING WAS A HAIRDRESSER BEFORE HE BECAME A MOVIE STAR

Since Crazy Rich Asians knocked the international boxoffice for a loop, Henry Golding, 31, has become a hot commodity. Before the movie premier (the biggest night in Henry’s life) the Malaysian born English actor took time to do his mother’s hair and his wife posted the sweet photo on Instagram. Henry was a hairdresser before he became an actor! Henry finished another movie before Asians was released – A Simple Favor. He played Blake Lively’s husband and now that he’s so famous, he’s suddenly being prominently featured in all the film’s publicity events.
