CAN LINDSAY LOHAN FILL ELIZABETH TAYLOR’S MUUMUU?

Hiring Lindsay Lohan to play Elizabeth Taylor in a movie sounds like a BAD idea to us. According to Deadline Hollywood, Lifetime is in serious talks with Lindsay to star in ”Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story” documenting Liz’s tempestuous and addictive romance with her “Cleopatra” costar Richard Burton. During their time together Elizabeth passed her peak of beauty and slowly sank into indulgence with Burton. She drank heavily with Richard (which increased the drama) and gained weight, which he gleefully teased her about. Elizabeth Taylor fans are not likely to be thrilled with this casting and Lindsay might not be so thrilled to learn she’ll have to gain weight for the part.

  1. All I can say is O-M-G! Those pants are a walking disaster to the 1000th degree, even for the 60’s/70’s.

Yeah, I think LILO would be a good fit for the part. Lifetime would be a great start for Lindsay to polish up her acting skills.

  2. Yes, she is over weight in the photo but still pretty and certainly not a cow. Burton called her names throughout their marriage. Even when they were first dating, he would find fault in her and call her names.

She was a very beautiful woman but I heard her come across as particularly interesting or charming. Of course, maybe she thought she didn’t have to because of her looks. Who knows ?

  3. Liz and Dick rawked what are you fools talking about???

Blohan is a horrible idea she cannot play La Liz!

  4. She would not be good in this role. I don’t think she can even act any more, except for crazy.

  5. If I was picking the lead I would seriously consider Sean Penn!
    Or Gilbert Gottfried.

  6. Kitty, are you my long-lost sister? I agree w/ all you said on this subject and all others. LOL

I have never seen Richard without a cig in his hand. His teeth are probably yellow, clothes stink and to kiss him would be yucky. But our gal Liz could handle it and all of his quirks, and especially the bling he bought her.

PS: I poisonally hate movies of someone’s life. Lindsay Lohan? Oh no.

  7. Richard was a very heavy smoker and an even bigger alcoholic, legendary one might say. They used to get in huge screaming swearing fights and he loved to insult her. Why she loved him is beyond me-maybe just obsession. Anyway, there’s an old picture of them fighting in public in an airport somewhere and she’s screaming at him and her face is all ugly and distorted. It freaked me out when I was growing up. I realized then that pretty really is as pretty does. I’ve also read about her and her public image is way nicer than what she really was,

  8. Don’t want to be unkind, but Lindsay Lohan doesn’t have it in her. Love her or hate her, Liz Taylor lived life to the max (hence her early-ish demise) and Lilo is just too one dimensional. But this is Lifetime and the whole thing is likely to be one dimensional. Nobody will even notice it’s on.

  9. Oh Colin, I think you are very wrong about LILO and you are underestimating her acting skills. This girl has got talent. She just needs to stop feeling sorry for herself and keep her hand out of the cookie jar.

I think she now has a firm grip on her future now, and is 100% ready to make her comeback. As for nobody noticing the movie is on, again, I feel your wrong. I think there are a lot of people that want to see Lindsay get her shit together and they will definately be tuned in for this one. Wait and see my friend!

  10. Kim Kardashian looks more like Elizabeth, we’ll just have to see if she can act.

  11. I personally NEVER want to see Lohan do ANYTHING ever again, not even strike a pose. I’m completely OVER her and others of her type that had it all and threw it all away with total disregard.

There is NO WAY Lohan can come remotely close to portraying La Liz. NO WAY! Whoever had this idea should be taken out behind the barn and fed to the hogs!

  12. I am not sure that Lindsay is still able to let go of her delusions of grandeur enough to act, but I think if she can…Liz is the right character for her. This would be a way better casting than her as Marilyn Monroe.

  13. Geez Reta, just when I thought you and I were getting along, you go and say something so terribly putrid! Huh, go figure!!

  14. Again, I totally agree with Reta. That role needs a strong, forceful, confident actress.

But then again, it is a Lifetime movie to be watched by frigid house Frau cows so the standard needn’t be too high.

  15. I’ll watch it! I want Lindsay to succeed…as long as she shares her story so young girls can learn by her example. Stay well xxoo

  16. HA young girls are learning by her example, I”ll say! Have you seen her younger sister Ali, the plastic surgery addicted 17 year old anorexic “model” ?Really, you cannot be so dense! Even small kids know her as a druggy drunk.

  17. Lindsay is a long way from sorting herself out, infact I doubt she ever will. I expect that her lifestyle choices will kill her and I doubt she will life a long life.

There must be a multitude of actresses available that could deliver on the role and not cause grief for the producers/insurers.

Someone mentioned Kim K as a choice, maybe if she could act she could pull it off – at least one this is sure, Kim will turn up to work every day and work hard at an opportunity such as this.

  18. … whereas Lindsay would p*ss all over it and of course it would be someone elses fault.

“In a February 1975 interview with his friend David Lewin he said he “tried” homosexuality. He also suggested that perhaps all actors were latent homosexuals, and “we cover it up with drink” In 2000, Ellis Amburn’s biography of Elizabeth Taylor suggested that Burton had an affair with Laurence Olivier and tried to seduce Eddie Fisher[citation needed], although this was strongly denied by Burton’s younger brother Graham Jenkins. “

  20. I’m reading their book right now (Furious Love). I’m not sure why I’m so fascinated by their family, but I am. I adore when kids refer to their step parent as their “parents.” I guess that is what intrigues me the most. The personal family life.

I can assure you I cannot wait to read up on what it was like to be a jolie-pitt kid. God I hope I live long enough.

oh and as much as everyone dislikes Lilo, she does sorta resemble ET and she was a very talented actress. Maybe she can pull it off.

  21. I agree with Colin on all points. This is unfortunate, because a good retelling of Taylor and Burton could be truly epic… but not when done by Lifetime trash for tv.

For both actors, they would need to find people with passion, and who were incredibly quick-witted and verbal. I can’t think of any current actors who come close (hopefully I am forgetting about someone). And Burton was Welsh and had the most amazing voice (although Taylor’s was amazing, too, in her best work, say, for example, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or Suddenly Last Summer).
