BEING MEGHAN MARKLE’S LOOKALIKE COULD BE PROFITABLE

We have to hand it to Lifetime, they found the PERFECT lookalike actress to star in their TV movie Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance. You wouldn’t think it would be so easy because Meghan Markle, 36, is biracial and distinctively pretty. But along came Jamaican born actress Parisa Fitz-Henley, 41, and it was a done deal. We’ve never seen Parisa before – she appeared on an NBC series Midnight Texas, but this resemblance could be a big boost for her career…

LIFETIME’S “BRITNEY EVER AFTER” – WATCH OUT – SAM LUFTI WILL BE WATCHING!

Britney Spears fans are NOT happy about the casting for Lifetime’s TV movie “Britney Ever After” – they gripe that the actors don’t look like their real life counterparts. They’re right, but that won’t stop Brit’s fans from watching. One thing the movie producers DO have to watch out for is Sam Lufti. You might remember he is the questionable guy who oozed himself into Britney’s life when she was so vulnerable and declared himself her “manager.” Lufti has a history of restraining orders, lawsuits, and temperamental outbursts. He sued Britney’s family for “slander” – they called him a low-life drug dealer – and he collected SIX figures in a settlement. Lufti went on to insert himself into the lives of Amanda Bynes and Courtney Love – but those are other stories. If he doesn’t like how he’s portrayed in this TV movie (and there’s no WAY it could be flattering) producers and Lifetime will be hearing from his lawyer!

THIS KIDNAPPING STORY IS STRANGER THAN FICTION

Imagine having your newborn baby stolen from the hospital and having her return as an adult 23 years later! The kidnapper in this shocking news event was just sentenced to a mere 12 years in prison and the story is being made into a Lifetime TV movie. Long story short: Ann Pettway disguised herself as a nurse and stole Carline White from the hospital, devastating her mother Joy White and father. The parents sued the hospital and got a settlement of $750,000 – fighting over the money contributed to their breaking up. Baby Carlina grew up haphazardly with her mentally deranged and drug addled abductor. When she realized she had no birth certificate, she became suspicious, researched online and learned that her real parents lived 45 minutes away. She was already damaged goods when she reunited with her mother Joy (played by Sherri Shepherd in the movie.) Imagine the psychological implications! Carlina was her mother’s flesh and blood but they had little in common- Carlina’s upbringing lacked education, family values, ethics. etc. And her lawyer pushed her to ask her mother about the settlement money! They are now estranged. Carlina’s mother said “My daughter found me, but I still haven’t found my daughter.” It’s a chilling story.

AMANDA DE CADENET IS WELL CONNECTED

Back in the 90’s, Amanda de Cadenet was a wealthy exhuberant English girl married to Duran Duran musician John Taylor, who decided she wanted to become an actress. She moved to LA and did a few movies but decided she loved photography more. She photographed lots of actors like Keanu Reeves (he became her boyfriend) Demi Moore, and Drew Barrymore for magazines. She knew everyone and hit all the parties. When her marriage failed, she married another photo subject, The Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi (above.) Demi Moore is producing Amanda’s new Lifetime show “The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet” debuting tonight, and with Amanda’s circle of friends, it’s bound to be interesting.

UNLIKE MOST TV, “AMERICA’S MOST WANTED ” MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

It makes sense that the female skewing cable channel, Lifetime, would pick up “America’s Most Wanted” because, let’s face it, women are most often the victims in crimes. So naturally they love to see criminals caught! And John Walsh nailed over 1100 fugitives in the 23 years the show was on Fox. After Fox canceled “Wanted” last year, Lifetime snapped it up and just ordered 20 more episodes. This is one of the few TV series that actually performs A PUBLIC SERVICE and we don’t know why the police department in every big city doesn’t have it’s OWN similar show, offering rewards for information. (All that TV time reserved “for religious purposes” could be better used fighting crime.)

CAN LINDSAY LOHAN FILL ELIZABETH TAYLOR’S MUUMUU?

Hiring Lindsay Lohan to play Elizabeth Taylor in a movie sounds like a BAD idea to us. According to Deadline Hollywood, Lifetime is in serious talks with Lindsay to star in ”Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story” documenting Liz’s tempestuous and addictive romance with her “Cleopatra” costar Richard Burton. During their time together Elizabeth passed her peak of beauty and slowly sank into indulgence with Burton. She drank heavily with Richard (which increased the drama) and gained weight, which he gleefully teased her about. Elizabeth Taylor fans are not likely to be thrilled with this casting and Lindsay might not be so thrilled to learn she’ll have to gain weight for the part.

FIRST, THE NEW YORK DOLLS, NOW, THE RUSSIAN DOLLS

Despite being “politically incorrect,” Americans – and probably everyone else- LOVE stereotypes. Other cultures are fascinating. Hence the popularity of the entire “Housewives” franchise, and of course, Jersey Shore. The latest to cash in on the stereotype thing is “Russian Dolls.” The series documents the lives of six outspoken, narcissistic Russian–American women who love to indulge in plastic surgery, parties, and expensive designer clothing – and they are not above showing off. They all happen to live in Brighton Beach, located in Brooklyn, New York. Sounds like a good time to us. It debuts on Lifetime next Thursday.
